The Tropics biome is the second level you will encounter in the game after beating the Shore, and naturally, it is considerably more difficult to tackle. This time around, you will enter a land covered with vines and greenery blooming everywhere. However, with the newly added beauty also come many more challenges and threats to your life. Once you reach the mountain summit on the Shore level and complete it, you will enter the Tropics biome. As the name suggests, it is basically a tropical forest or jungle, which means it is full of life and dangerous lifeforms. Despite being more challenging than its predecessor, the Tropics is still the second biome in the game and is not too difficult if you follow the tips we have given below.
Capitalize on the Shore Level’s Statue Effect
In PEAK, you will find statues after reaching the end of each biome. Since the Tropics is the second level in the game and takes place after the Shore, you can enter this terrain with a buff from said statue. There are various effects that you can get by interacting with the statue. Some of the most notable ones are unlimited stamina for a temporary amount of time and cured injuries.
Don’t Get Poisoned in the Jungle
The Tropics biome in PEAK is full of various flora and fauna, and most of them can kill you quite easily. Similar to the jellyfish on the Shore, some lifeforms in the jungle can easily poison you. However, instead of being a creature, this time it will be a plant, except for the Beehive. More specifically, the Tropics level is full of dangerous flora, including ones with poisonous traits such as various berries and mushrooms, and other bushes that explode when you get near them. So, you must be careful and use your guidebook to avoid them.
Use the Vines for Traversal
As we mentioned briefly, the Tropics biome is riddled with vines everywhere, which makes sense since it is a jungle. However, these vines don’t just add to the visual appeal or aesthetic of the level; they are also your primary method of traveling this time. Players can use the vines in the Tropics to swing from one point to another, which makes moving around and climbing much easier. But we still recommend carrying a rope cannon as backup.
