The Council is a feature that is only available in the full game of The King is Watching. This means you need to purchase the game to unlock the full experience. You won’t get this feature in the free demo.

Once you buy the full game, the Council will appear before your playthrough starts. Here, you can select up to 8 Advisors. There are a total of 21 Advisors to choose from, so you are spoiled for options. However, you need to choose carefully, as they get locked in once you start the run. This means these 8 Advisors will be the ones providing buffs for your entire playthrough.

Your choice of Advisors can spell either victory or disaster, depending on how well they match your strategy. So take your time and read through them to know which ones you prefer.

Best Council Advisors in The King Is Watching

All Advisors provide powerful advantages for your playthrough. However, if you are curious about the best ones to pick while still learning about them, here are our top picks:

  • Felix the Cat – Gives an artifact before you start your run. If you’re lucky, you can have the best start and dominate the early game. Also, it’s a cat.
  • Unicorn – Provides three extra spell slots for you to use. This can come in handy if you are going for a spell master playthrough and get Necromancy, Freeze, and many more.
  • Golem – Buildings now cost 10% less to construct. Good if you want to quickly build your kingdom as soon as possible.
  • Gustav – Building output increases by 5%. Strong for rushing your income and resource gathering to build stronger units.

Keep in mind that these are not necessarily must-haves. The ones listed above are good starter options if you are still new to the game. However, once you are familiar with the mechanics, you can go for more complex strategies and Advisors.
