Gathering XP (experience) and leveling up your character is a core part of the battle royale gameplay loop in Supervive. XP can be gained by defeating enemies, adding to the XP gauge until it fills up completely, and the hunter levels up. However, gaining XP and levels isn’t as straightforward as it may first seem, as there are soft level caps that force a change in approach at higher levels.

How To Gain Experience and Level Up in Supervive

The primary way to gather experience in Supervive is to defeat enemies, including camps and other players. Initially, you should target and defeat the NPC camps quickly to gather up XP and levels. After your XP bar is filled completely, the hunter levels up, gaining a boost to stats and one ability point.

To clear camps effectively, focus on killing the healer first. The mini-boss in the group will begin executing a special move with a purple circle forming around it. Use a damaging ability on it to stagger the mini-boss and deal massive damage. Doing so is crucial to clear camps quickly.

Every game begins with the hunter at level 1 with one ability point. Ability points can be spent on unlocking and leveling up abilities. Spend the first four ability points to unlock the four available abilities before starting to level them up. The ultimate ability can only be unlocked at level 5. However, both character and ability levels are capped.

Level Caps in Supervive

There are both soft and hard caps for character and ability levels in Supervive. The soft cap exists because you can only gain XP by killing enemies at the same or higher level than you. This prevents players from farming camps to power level before engaging in PvP fights. Camps begin at level 4 and scale up in levels after the first day. Camps respawn at the start of a new day, and camps that spawn at night are generally at a higher level.

However, defeating players always awards XP depending on their level relative to yours. For example, defeating a level 2 player as a level 6 will not yield much XP, but it will award a ton of XP if the levels were the other way around. You hit the hard level cap at level 9. The exception to this rule is if you use an XP soul, which extends your entire team’s level cap to 10.

Upgrading an ability to level 2 generally reduces its cooldown, while increasing its level to 3 adds an additional effect to it. Due to the level cap, only one basic ability can reach level 3 while the rest remain at level 2. Using an XP soul will allow you to improve another ability to level 3.
