Grow a Garden recently introduced the Ascension feature that allowed players to level up their garden and earn Garden Coins. The feature was welcomed initially, but was met with some criticism. When a player Ascended their garden, the player would lose all their Sheckles.
However, the Ascension system went through a rework and is now much better. Players will only lose 1 Trillion Sheckles as opposed to all of their money. The requirements for the system have also been reduced.

Previously, the Ascension feature required players to submit a rare plant, along with losing all the Sheckles. You would receive 10 Garden Coins in return, which you could use to purchase some upgrades. Upgrades not only include fences, but also feature an inventory capacity increase and an extra save slot! However, players would lose all their hard-earned Sheckles.
The developers took note of the criticism and came up with a rework update. You will now require 1 Trillion Sheckles and lower-rarity plants like Coconut, Mushroom, and Pepper. You will now get 5 Garden Coins instead of 10.
The Garden Coin shop is now a bit expensive. The prices have been increased to match the current rework. Players who Ascended before the change will receive some rewards. The developers might give away Prismatic plants and pets to these players. If you have Ascended after the rework, you will not receive any special rewards.
All Changes to the Ascension System
The new changes to the system are much easier. If you’re a mid-game player, you can obtain the Ascension. Here are all the changes to the Ascension system:
- First Ascension now costs 1 Trillion Sheckles, increasing by 2T each next Ascension.
- Ascension no longer fully resets Sheckles.
- Players who already ascended will receive a special reward this weekend.
- Fruit requirements for ascending are now easier. You can find these fruits in the Seed Shop easily.
- Mutation requirements for ascending are easier as well. Sometimes a fruit with 0 mutations will be required.
- Cooldown between ascensions reduced from 24 hours to 4 hours. You can Ascend multiple times in a short span of time.
- Ascension shop upgrades now cost double their previous prices. This will make it fair for players that have already Ascended and for the recent rework.
- All previous ascension requirements have been rerolled to the updated ones.
