Reaper Crest

Without any doubt, Reaper Crest is one of the best crests in Hollow Knight Silksong. It has a pretty good range while providing a great moveset. With the help of Reaper Crest, you can even knock back enemies, giving you a good advantage depending on the situation. And if you thought this was enough, it can also help you gather more silk with its silk bind effect, meaning you can use skills more often.

Witch Crest

This crest is all about damage, and once equipped, you are going to feel its power. The moveset it provides can disappear your pogo, resulting in an amazing attack. This crest is the best in slot when fighting annoying bosses due to its damage and good range. You can even create a great silk bind explosion with the help of this crest.

Shaman Crest

So, you like spamming silk skills and want to deal more damage while doing it. If that’s the case, then go no further and choose Shaman Crest. A crest with great long-range attacks and three silk skills. In Hollow Knight Silksong, most of the time you have to get closer to an enemy to deal damage, and this crest removes that part from the equation.

Architect Crest

As the name suggests, Architect Crest focuses mainly on the usage of tools. There are only two blue slots in this crest, but four red slots. However, this configuration lets you craft ammunition for your tools. Even though you require a lot of shards to put it to use, you can equip the Shell Satchel and Shard Pendant to get additional shards. Overall, its great utility puts it in the A-tier.

It has a lot of yellow slots that let you use exploration items efficiently, making your first few hours easier than ever.

B-Tier Crests in Hollow Knight

Hunter Crest

Hunter Crest is actually the starter crest that you will have at the start of the game. It has a decent range, fast attacks, and a good number of slots. The pogo attacks at an angle, which can be a little confusing at the start. Since you have it from the beginning of the game, you are going to replace it later after finding another crest.

Beast Crest

At last, we have arrived at Beast Crest. It comes with a fast moveset and a good Silk Bind buff. However, there are no blue slots on this crest, and on top of that, you have to hit enemies to put the silk bind buff to use.
