NBA 2K26 is a hard-to-run game on the PC. When considering 4K resolution, things get tough for even the most powerful hardware. Based on our testing, upscaling is necessary to maintain a high frame rate at this resolution. The guide below will help you achieve a consistent 4K 60FPS experience without changing much of the game’s visuals.

The GPU power we recommend comes in the range of an RTX 4080 or beyond. On AMD, this translates to the RX 9070 XT or the RX 7900 XTX. Using Ray-Traced reflection is purely situational, as enabling it significantly reduces the frame rate. In competitive gaming, you want the best frame rate and the lowest possible input latency.

Dropping the upscaler to a Quality or Balanced profile scales down the game’s internal resolution, allowing it to run at 1440p or slightly higher than 1080p. The output image is then displayed as 4K. Not only do you gain a lot of performance, but also, the input lag is lower due to the higher frame rate.

On AMD cards, particularly RX 9070 XT and 7900 XTX, you have sufficient horsepower to try using XeSS. XeSS, in terms of image quality, is much better than FSR. After recent updates, it now incorporates AI-based upscaling and functions similarly to how DLSS upscales the image.  FSR will grant you a higher frame rate while XeSS will provide better image quality. Based on your choices, pick accordingly. On Nvidia, DLSS 4 will seamlessly provide the best image quality out there and tackle the game with these settings below without breaking a sweat.
