Prismatic Subclass offers 21 fragments for all three classes in Destiny 2, including the Facet of Balance.
Players gain access to the new Prismatic subclass with the Final Shape expansion. Firstly, it’s unique and combines specific class abilities for different damage types. Using dark and light abilities, buffs or debuffs fill two corresponding meters, and once they are fully charged, your character enters the special state called Transcendence. Moreover, Transcendence functions like a mini super and busts your defense and offensive capabilities.
Once you unlock a Facet of Balance Prismatic Fragment, it becomes available for all your characters.
Facet of Balance in Destiny 2
The facet of Balance is a new fragment in the Prismatic subclass introduced with the Final Shape expansion in Destiny 2. Here’s an in-depth look at what this fragment does, its benefits, and how it can be effectively used in different builds and gear setups.
The Facet of Balance fragment grants the following effects:
- Rapidly defeating targets with Light damage grants melee energy.
- Rapidly defeating targets with Dark damage grants grenade energy.
Benefits and Usage
The Facet of Balance benefits all classes by ensuring a constant flow of ability energy, giving you more frequent use of melee and grenade abilities. This fragment can be particularly effective in activities with high enemy density, such as Strikes or Gambit, where there are many enemies, and you can fast and constantly get final blows from killing.
Hunters
This fragment is excellent for Hunters who rely on their melee abilities for quick, high-damage attacks and their grenades for crowd control. Light-based abilities like Knife Trick or Storm’s Edge quickly replenish melee energy, while Stasis or Strand abilities will keep grenade energy topped up.
Titans
Titans can use their strong melee abilities, such as Shield Throw or Hammer Strike, by rapidly defeating enemies with Light damage to keep their melee energy high. Utilizing Dark abilities like Frenzied Blade or Shiver Strike will help maintain grenade energy for abilities like Flashbang or Suppressor Grenade.
Warlocks
Warlocks can balance melee and grenade abilities, enhancing their versatility in combat. Light-based attacks like Storm Grenade or Healing Grenade can keep melee energy high while using Dark abilities such as Arcane Needle or Penumbral Blast, which will sustain grenade energy.
Gear Synergies
To maximize the potential of the Facet of Balance, consider the following gear and mods:
- Hunters: The combination of Facet of Balance with exotics like Liar’s Handshake (increases melee damage after using an Arc melee ability or being hit by a melee attack) can create powerful melee builds. Additionally, using exotics like Shards of Galanor can maximize grenade energy returns for Solar builds.
- Titans: Exotics like Synthoceps (increases melee damage when surrounded) can synergize well with Facet of Balance, making Titans powerful in close-quarters combat. Heart of Inmost Light can also be beneficial as it increases the regeneration rate of all abilities after using one.
- Warlocks: Exotics like Karnstein Armlets (melee kills instantly restore a large amount of health and continue to restore health afterward) can complement the Facet of Balance, giving continuous melee energy and survivability. Pairing this with Nezarec’s Sin can provide bonus ability energy for Void builds.
