Tusk of the Boar is a strand wave frame grenade launcher introduced during Season of the Wish. Tusk of the Boar is one of the few wave frame grenade launchers, and it is the only one that can roll with Chain Reaction. This strand wave frame is a great option for when you need a good add clear special weapon but need to keep your energy slot open for build synergy.

Tusk of the Boar is a good option to have for PvE. Its currently the only Kinetic slot wave frame that can roll with Chain Reaction making it a great weapon to have. We want to get our Blast Radius up as much as possible, so Volatile Launch and High-Velocity Rounds are what we want for our minor perks. Envious Assassin will allow for an extra round to be loaded into the grenade launcher, making it an easy choice for Column 3. You could also build into Strand synergy with Slice and Hatchling.
Chain Reaction was nerfed on special weapons, but it is still a really great perk to have on your weapons. Tusk of the Boar isn’t going to be game-changing in any way, but it is still a great option to have. Wave frames like Forbearance have been Best in Slot for a long time and Tusk of the Boar can fill that same niche but in a different slot allowing for more build options.

Wave-Frame grenade launchers can be good in PvP with a build focused around them. Handling and Blast Radius are the best stats for quick swaps and larger waves. Slideways can help with our stats and quick reloads, which this weapon can struggle with. Column 4 lacks any great options, but Chain Reaction or Swashbuckler can help in different situations.
The best way to utilize a wave-frame grenade launcher is the hit the ground in front of enemy and then quick swap to a fast-firing weapon like a sidearm or a submachine gun to clean up the kill. You can also use the grenade launcher itself to clean up kills that teammates have set up for you. Wave-frames are a niche-choice, but not ineffective especially in 6v6 situations.
How to Get Tusk of the Boar in Destiny 2
Tusk of the Boar can be obtained from any Iron Banner Reward source. Once the gun has been earned you can focus it at Lord Saladin for Iron Banner Engrams and Glimmer. Iron Banner is a limited-time game mode that comes once every couple of months for two weeks. Each week a different mode of Iron Banner is featured.
