In Black Myth: Wukong, Focus points are your primary method for dealing damage and triggering skills and tactics. Focus points are built through hits, charging, and Perfect Dodges. Your focus points and what you gain by spending them can be improved through talents. Talents are passive boosts to your focus points that you unlock with Spark Points.
You earn Spark Points in the game by defeating enemies. When you defeat an enemy, you will be granted Willpower. Then, after your Willpower bar fills up, you will get a Spark Point.
Finally, you can respec your Spark Points at any time during the game. This freedom will facilitate combat strategy and allow you to modify your build to take advantage of boss weaknesses or combat style.
All Focus Talents – Black Myth: Wukong
The Focus Talent tree is broken into two sections, with the left side expanding your total focus points while the right increases the effectiveness of focus points. The focus talent tree is one of the strongest and most important in Black Myth: Wukong and should be advanced to increase your combat potential. However, expect to spend a massive investment in sparks to increase Focus Attack total, but it is well worth the price.
Below are all the Focus Talents skills, abilities, and talents in Black Myth Wukong :
- Focused Attack II: increases max focus points to two.
- Focused Attack III: increases max focus points to three.
- Focused Attack IV: increases max focus points to four.
- Exhilaration: increases health recovery upon coming to a focus point.
- Instinct: reduces stamina cost of heavy attacks.
- Versatility: Damage increases by varied heavy attacks.
- Quick Hand: slightly increases changing speed of stances.
- Secondary Damage: heavy attacks that cost focus points deal additional damage to enemies based on their remaining health.
- Endeavor: when below 1 focus point, you can skill perform varied combos but lower damage.
Focused Attack II
- Talent Name: Focused Attack II
- Description: Increases Maximum Focus Points from one to two.
- Sparks Cost: 3
Your total focus can be increased by one point to two maximum. This is critical for advanced talents and skills. You will need to spend space on the right-hand column to increase your focus points overall;d it should be a priority at your level. You want to balance progressing your passive skills from the foundation, active skills instance, and focus skills. Ideally, you’ll progress them in tandem for optimal character progression.
Focused Attack III
- Talent Name: Focused Attack III
- Description: Increases Maximum Focus Points from two to three.
- Sparks Cost: 10
To increase your focus points to three, you’ll need to spend 10 sparks in the focus talent tree. This is important to reach Focus Attack IV, which can be used at the end game.
Focused Attack IV
- Talent Name: Focused Attack IV
- Description: Increases Maximum Focus Points from three to four. The fourth Focus Point does not sustain for long and its gauge depletes over time.
- Sparks Cost: 20
Players will need to spend 20 sparks within the focus talent skill tree to unlock one of the best talents in the game, Focused Attack IV. Many skills and talents throughout later progression will deal damage based on the focus points you spend. Thus, having max focus points of four becomes vital to the most powerful combinations.
Exhilaration
- Talent Name: Exhilaration
- Description: Each talent level slightly increases the Health recovery upon consuming a Focus Point.
- Sparks Cost: 1
- Ranks: 3
The Exhilaration talent makes you gain Health Recovery just for using a Focus Point. This effect can be upgraded up to 3 times and is an amazing boon. You will be using Focus Points often, so getting a passive Health recovery bonus just for doing that is very powerful. It won’t keep you alive indefinitely but it should make a difference in a close battle.
Instinct
- Talent Name: Instinct
- Description: Each talent level moderately reduces the Stamina cost of Charged Heavy Attacks.
- Sparks Cost: 1
- Ranks: 3
Stamina is an extremely valuable resource, so getting something to passively reduce its cost for any ability is going to be worth grabbing. While the Instinct Talent only effects Charged Heavy Attacks, any cost reduction can make a difference. As stated above, this Talent can be purchased 3 times.
Versatility
- Talent Name: Versatility
- Description: Each talent level slightly increases Damage dealt by all Varied Combos.
- Sparks Cost: 1
- Ranks: 3
Varied Combos are powerful moves that can chained to do a lot of damage on their own by using a Focus Point. The Versatality Talen increases the damage those Varied Combos can do passively, making it a for sure pick to get as early as possible. Like the previous entries, this Talent can be taken up to 3 times.
Quick Hand
- Talent Name: Quick Hand
- Description: Each talent level slightly increases the charging speed of all stances.
- Sparks Cost: 1
- Ranks: 4
The Quick Hand Talent increases the charging speed of every stance. Stances are powerful ways to change your move sets to allow for more powerful combos, better focus targets, or even grant yourself more range. By increasing the charging speed of those stances, you can better use them to adapt to situations where a different stance may be required.
Secondary Damage
- Talent Name: Secondary Damage
- Description: Heavy Attacks that cost a Focus Point deals additional Damage to the enemy based on their remaining Health.
- Sparks Cost: 2
- Ranks: 2
The Secondary Damage Talent increases Heavy Attack damage based on the enemy’s remaining health. This effect isn’t bad as it increases your overall damage output, but because of its indirect nature its not always going to be helpful. The talent can and should be taken but others will probably be worth taking before this one.
Endeavor
- Talent Name: Endeavor
- Description: When below 1 Focus Point, the Destined One can still perform Varied Combos, but with significantly reduced damage.
- Sparks Cost: 2
- Ranks: 1
Normally the Destined One can only perform Varied Combos if he has a Focus Point available to spend. As stated, the Endeavor Talen allows you to use a Varied Combo without needing a Focus point. Varied Combos, even with reduced damage, are still very powerful and worth using, especially if you have invested in the Verstatilty Talent as well.
