The Auction House returns in NBA 2K25, so learn how to unlock and use it if you wish to trade cards with other players.
Many fans were wondering if the Auction House would return in NBA 2K25, and, fortunately, it has indeed returned. However, some changes and upgrades have been made to the system to make the process easier for players. As the name suggests, the Auction House is used to auction your cards and acquire cards auctioned by other players.
Whether you’re a new player or a veteran, this article will help you in figuring out how to unlock and use the Auction House feature in 2K’s latest basketball simulation game.
What is the Auction House in NBA 2K25?
The Auction House is a unique feature of MyTEAM, found under the Market tab. Here, you can obtain cards from other players with your MyTEAM Points (MTP). You can also auction off your own cards in exchange for MTP. In addition, simply playing games or completing agendas will also get you some MTP.
2K has made many improvements to the Auction House in NBA 2K25, which are as follows:
- The Auction House itself has been merged into a single place where you can search, buy, and sell. This means you no longer need to return to the MyTEAM menus to retrieve completed auctions or keep tabs on your bids.
- Additionally, you can use your My Auctions menu to search directly for a particular card. So, you can quickly verify MTP costs prior to offering your card for sale.
- Getting more MyTEAM REP will also expand the space in your My Auctions menu.
How to Unlock the Auction House in NBA 2K25
To unlock and use the Auction House in the latest NBA 2K title, you have to reach the Gold Gem level in MyTEAM REP. This is different from the REP System in The City, but it also features a progression system with perks, privileges, and prizes. There are 11 levels to progress through in the MyTEAM REP Rewards System. However, you can go beyond that and get ranked in the MyTEAM REP Top 10.
Now, the Gold level is the third rank, so unlocking the Auction House is fairly easy. Once you go beyond Gold level, you can keep expanding your My Auctions space by 10 Cards for eight consecutive levels.
What Can Get You Banned From the Auction House?
The new Auction House has a zero-tolerance policy for what 2K considers “activity detrimental to the health of the mode.” To ensure that the feature remains fair and enjoyable for all users, all transactions will go through a verification process. As such, using the Auction House illegitimately violates the Player Code of Conduct and Terms of Service set by 2K. This is something that can get you banned permanently.
Transferring MTP to or from another account using the Auction House in a way that is not in accordance with a valid auction could be problematic. One such example is when you’re gifting a friend MTP. This also applies to utilizing several accounts to combine MTP. It’s also forbidden to promote, sell, or purposefully move MTP between accounts, along with encouraging other players to do so.
