What are Mastery Points in Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2?
Mastery Points are used to upgrade and unlock unique perks for your weapon in Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2. They do not function as currency exactly but are similar to the idea of skill points for weapons specifically.
Each weapon in Space Marine 2 has its separate progression tree. You can use your Mastery Points to upgrade various attributes and stats like accuracy, firepower, magazine size, and other such components.
How to Easily Get Mastery Points in Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2?
You must keep using a weapon during missions and operations to gain experience for it in Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2. Once you have a significant amount of experience, you can use Armory Data and spend some Requisition to master it. Mastering a weapon to any tier will grant you with one Mastery Point.
How to Use Mastery Points to Upgrade Weapons
You must use the Mastery Points in a particular weapon’s perk tree in Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2 and upgrade it. You can choose which aspect you want to upgrade based on your preferred playstyle.
Each weapon has two perk trees, and you can choose which one of them to upgrade. Mixing between the two trees is not currently possible in Space Marine 2.
Each weapon has four tiers:
- Standard – Default
- Master Crafted – 1500 Exp
- Artificer – 7500 Exp
- Relic – 17000 Exp
Upgrading weapons improves their tier, along with giving them a new appearance. The higher your weapon’s perk tier, the more devastating it will become in combat. If at any point you want to change the perks of your weapon or use a different perk tree, you will be able to do it for free.
Note that you cannot just unlock any perk for your weapon as the game follows a tree system. For some perks, you must unlock other perks higher up in the tree first.
Tips and Tricks for Effective Mastery Points Management
Mastery Points are scarce, so you need to properly manage your expenditure. Using them mindlessly will result in a sub-optimal build for your character. Here are some tips and tricks to keep in mind while spending your Mastery Points in Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2:
- Choose the weapons properly, and look at all the perks that you can unlock. Do not spend your perks without properly understanding the changes they will bring to your weapon.
- Decide which perk upgrade synergizes the best with your playstyle. Only upgrade those specific perks.
- Try to play with a variety of weapon classes and unlock perks for all of them so you can have versatile builds ready to tackle every situation.
