SEGA’s upcoming Football Manager title has been pushed back yet again. Developer Sports Interactive shared the news in an X post on October 10, 2024. In an earlier development update on September, they had announced the need for a delay until November.
However, even with the extra time, the team has been unable to match the quality standards they’ve set for the game. So, with that in mind, here’s what you should know about the latest Football Manager 2025 delay.

Developer Sports Interactive has decided to delay Football Manager 2025 following talks with SEGA, their partners, and licensors. They will reveal specific release dates for each platform when confirmed, but the game has been pushed back to March 2025. As explained in their latest update, the reasons for this latest delay is the same as last time.
The developers claim it’s been a rough development cycle for them. Many things, they say, have been going more slowly than they anticipated. Sports Interactive further added:
“Timelines were already tight and, as rightly pointed out by many of your recent comments, we were simply rushing too much and in danger of compromising our usual standards. This has put an enormous amount of pressure on everyone working across the studio, who are all passionately committed to delivering the best game possible.”
So, according to the devs, if they were to release Football Manager 2025 in November, as they claimed earlier, they would have to compromise on the quality. In light of that, they need some more time to work on the game.
As mentioned by the devs, if you’ve pre-ordered FM25 and are unhappy with this delay, you can contact your retailer for a refund. The devs have also confirmed that Advanced Access will be accessible before the official release, with an exact date to be announced later. Additionally, the new gameplay reveal has been rescheduled to the end of January 2025.
When it arrives in March 2025 after the latest delay, Football Manager 25 is expected to be available on PC, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Android, iOS, and Nintendo Switch.
