Find out if and how you can unlock the Alethonym catalyst and enhance the Alethonym Stasis Grenade Launcher in Destiny 2.
Destiny 2 has a long list of weapons that players can choose from. Each weapon comes with its own unique perks and serves different purposes. Among these, the Alethonym Stasis Grenade Launcher has certainly been making a name for itself among players. The launcher’s ability to unleash powerful Stasis sparks makes it a decently useful weapon in Destiny 2. This has also led players to wonder about how they can get their hands on the Alethonym catalyst and upgrade the Grenade Launcher to the next level.
In this article, we will break down how you can get the Alethonym catalyst in Destiny 2 and gain a brand-new perk for your collection.
Can You Unlock Alethonym Catalyst in Destiny 2?
Unfortunately, while players can acquire the Alethonym catalyst for free, the resource is currently unobtainable. This is because the catalyst is locked behind level 145 on the Revenant Season Pass. Since players will not be able to progress past level 100 for the rest of Act 1, there is no way to acquire this catalyst in the game. However, when Act 2 starts on November 19, you will be able to level up all the way to level 150. This will enable you to add the Alethonym catalyst to your inventory.
Once you unlock the Alethonym catalyst, you can equip the One For All perk to the Grenade Launcher. This will grant you a 35% damage boost for 10 seconds if you get multiple kills in a short period of time. While this is not a huge boost by any means, it can prove to be useful in certain situations. However, this perk still has a long way to go as it can only be unlocked with the Alethonym catalyst.
If you want to level up to 145 quickly once Act 2 launches, you can take part in activities to maximize the XP you earn. The best way to go is by taking on seasonal challenges. Seasonal challenges can provide you with large chunks of XP for the Season Pass, especially the ones marked with “Challenger XP+++” as a reward. Additionally, you can complete bounties from Eido and other vendors. While this grants you significantly less XP than the seasonal challenges, they can still contribute towards your grind to reach level 145.
