Professional Fortnite player and Twitch streamer Cody “Clix” lives in his apartment situated in Dallas, Texas.
Cody “Clix” is a popular content creator, known for mainly producing content related to the battle-royale shooter title, Fortnite. His first big break online came through his qualification in the Fortnite World Cup, which took place in 2019. Even though Clix was born in Connecticut, United States, he holds Italian heritage.
Clix is active on YouTube and Twitch and holds a significant fanbase on both platforms. The 19-year-old began his streaming career on Twitch on the same date he created a YouTube channel, which was on November 11, 2017. Since then, he has managed to accrue over 3.1 million subscribers on YouTube and a whopping 7.8 million followers on Twitch.
As per his 2023 video titled “My UPDATED $5,000,000 Apartment Tour”, the streamer resides in an apartment worth $5 million, located in Dallas, Texas. In the video, he showcased the various rooms as well as their contents. These included his recording area, decorations such as rugs, and other expensive items that he purchased as he liked their “design.” Much of the streamer’s content, including this video, reflects his luxurious lifestyle.
A segment of his video also focuses on the scenic view provided by his apartment’s expansive windows, overlooking the city and its buildings. Talking about the balcony of his room, which allows him to get a clearer view outside, he said:
“But seriously, the view’s sick… By far, this is my part about the whole entire apartment.”
Why Was Clix Brought In For Questioning By The Police?
A controversy involving Clix erupted while he was hosting an IRL stream from the Town Center Mall in Boca Raton, Florida in September 2023. While the content creator was inside the mall, one of his viewers swatted him by calling the police on him. The individual reportedly claimed that a shooting was taking place within the establishment and that Clix was the instigator.
To those unaware, Swatting is the act of making a malicious hoax call to the authorities against live broadcasters, in an attempt to disrupt their livestream and potentially get them arrested. Such an act can sometimes lead to dangerous consequences, as authorities treat such calls as genuine reports. In some cases, such as Clix’s, teams such as the Bomb Squad are called in.
After reviewing the situation around him, the streamer explained to his audience that individuals around him were “screaming and crying.” On the other side, the authorities believed that he was the shooter at the scene. Visibly shaken, Clix said:
“Nobody can f**king get out. Girls are f**king screaming and crying, bro. Bro, I’m in disbelief right now, bro. Like, I’m in so much f**king shock. That’s why I had to put it down. The cops f**king think it’s me. Bro, and now they think I’m the one f**king shooting it up.”
Soon after, the police took him in for questioning and transported him in a police car. Afterward, he called his friend and fellow streamer FaZe Nick “Lacy” and described the situation to him:
“So, bro, I’m here for questioning and I can’t get my car back. They actually believe that I’m f**king… they actually are, like, thinking I’m the one doing it. I swear to god…. Motherf**king bomb team here, bro.”
