Where to pick up the Black Clover manga after the anime? This is a question that has been discussed by fans across the world on various social media platforms like X (formerly known as Twitter). The answer to the question is Chapter 270, which is a part of the Spade Kingdom Raid arc. This is where fans can pick up the Black Clover manga after the anime. The anime had just entered the aforementioned story arc and then stopped midway.

The reason why the above mentioned question has been discussed widely is the inactivity from the animation studio. Officials from Studio Pierrot have not given any updates with respect to their pipeline. Naturally, this made the entire fanbase worry about the anime’s continuation and whether or not Studio Pierrot will continue working on the adaptation. This leads to another interesting question – why did the animation studio stop releasing their weekly anime episodes? To understand more about this, we have to take a look at the biggest issue that the anime adaptation faced during the Spade Kingdom Raid arc.

Why Did the Black Clover Anime Enter an Indefinite Hiatus?

In most cases, the manga chapters act as the source material, while the anime is an adaptation of said manga chapters. In this case, the manga written and illustrated by Yuki Tabata is the source material. This means the animation studio has to wait for enough manga chapters to be released before it can start working on the anime adaptation. The reason why Black Clover anime stopped putting out episodes was due to the fact that the anime caught up to the manga.

Every week a manga chapter is released, and the anime adaptation follows the same schedule. However, each episode packs the contents of at least two chapters. Naturally, the anime adaptation is bound to catch up to the manga unless it was seasonal. Furthermore, the animation studio also undertook bigger projects like Bleach Thousand Year Blood War, which became a priority.

Should You Read the Black Clover Manga?

Yes, the Black Clover manga is an entertaining manga series that is worth reading. Chapter 270 is where fans can pick up the Black Clover manga after the anime. From here on, fans can read all the way up to chapter 373 which is the latest one at the time of writing. The action and plot progression are considerable during the second half of the Spade Kingdom Raid arc.

The introduction of new antagonists will also keep the readers entertained. Furthermore, fans can also expect to see an improvement in Asta’s overall combat skills. This is followed up with an improvement in his comrade’s abilities as well. The manga has not concluded at the time of writing. The story will go on for a couple of months to a year at the very least.

While the manga is an enjoyable read overall, there are a few flaws that one might encounter while reading the manga. The fight sequences are undeniably entertaining. However, the characters can seem one-dimensional at times. The responses and reactions tend to get a tad bit repetitive. With that said, these flaws are minor and the other plot elements will keep the reader entertained.

Should You Wait for the Black Clover Anime to Return?

There is absolutely no doubt that the anime adaptation does the manga justice. However, it might not be wise to wait for the anime to return. There are a few reasons why we believe that reading the manga might be the better option at the time of writing. It has been over three and half years since the series put out an episode. While three and half years have passed already, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the animation studio will pick it up immediately.

The issue is that Studio Pierrot is currently working on Bleach Thousand Year Blood War. This implies that a substantial amount of time will be spent animating Bleach. Furthermore, Boruto is a more financially successful IP, which means precedence it may take precedence. There is a considerable amount of uncertainty with respect to the Black Clover anime adaptation. Therefore, reading the manga at the time being is advisable.
