You are not alone with the Destiny 2 BAT Error Code. Let’s explore possible fixes and reasons for the technical problem.
The BAT Error Code will be placed somewhere on top if you make a list of the most annoying Destiny 2 errors. Don’t get us wrong. Nobody likes to see any technical issues while gaming, but BAT is particularly infamous because of its nature of appearance and the little information that is present regarding it. A possible fix might also help you troubleshoot the problem if you are in luck.
Bungie seems to take good care of its player base, but even the developers are trying to figure out an official fix to the bug. The BAT Error Code will show up on the screen when the player’s account is having trouble connecting with the game’s servers. So, there are a few ways to fix these general networking issues.
Try These Fixes To Potentially Resolve the BAT Error Code

Whenever you see the code in question displayed on the screen, know that the issue is with your connectivity. The developers are still trying to decode where that issue is arising from. Either way, try the following steps to ensure that it’s not a problem at your end:
- Try Restarting Destiny 2 – This will help eliminate any connectivity issues that the game picked up while booting.
- Reboot Your Device – Whether you play on a console or a PC, try rebooting the entire setup if restarting the game doesn’t work.
- Repeat the Same With Your Router – As is the tradition, don’t forget to reboot your router as well. Close it, wait for 10 seconds, then turn it back on. This can help eliminate minor issues from your internet provider’s end.
- Wait For a Few Hours – Sometimes the best thing you can do is give up and not check back in for a few hours. Since the issue is so widespread, it is likely from Bungie’s end. The servers may be overloaded, and the best thing to do in that case is to come back later.
Mystery of the BAT Error Code
As we reported earlier, this code shows up for connectivity issues. However, Bungie is not sure why the issue is persistent with a majority of the player base. They recommend you repeat the same steps you would take to eliminate the SCALLION Error Code, which is relaunching the game.
Into the Light expansion launched earlier this year, and several new players joined around the same time. This is when the game started facing the BAT Error Code more frequently. So, it might be an issue with the game’s servers. Bungie claims that the issue is reported to them each time you receive it on-screen. If you wish, you can also reach out to them on their Help Forum and mention when and how the error occurred.
