The Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi series is known best for its bizarre What-If scenarios, and Dragon Ball Sparking Zero takes it up a notch by offering extensive versions of these. Burter and Jeice are members of the Ginyu Force that you fight as part of Goku’s Saga in the Planet Namek Arc. Goku’s heroic return sets the stage for the showdown between the force and the Saiyan.

The fight is one-on-one, but the duo can tag in and out depending on the battle. The fight is fairly easy, but the conditions required to trigger the diverging paths can be challenging as the Ginyu Force fights aggressively and can often distract (or overwhelm) you from focusing on the objectives.

In this guide, we shall go over unlocking the alternate Jeice and Burter paths in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero.

Jeice and Burter Paths in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero

As you battle the Ginyu Force duo in the chapter, Jeice will launch a Crusher Ball aimed right at you. You can either dodge this ball or deflect it, with your choice branching the story in two directions.

Deflect the Crusher Ball

You will have to deflect Jeice’s Crusher Ball to go down the canon path. Deflect the attack by pressing Circle on PlayStation or B on Xbox. Deflecting the attack will intimidate Jeice, who will lose the will to continue the fight. He will then tag in the big brute Burter. Defeat Burter to continue on the canon pathway as intended.

The Crusher Ball moves fast and can be difficult to deflect if you’re not paying attention. Timing the block wrong can also result in being hit. If you’re struggling with deflecting the attack on time, you can lower the difficulty of the fight. In the lower difficulty, Jeice will still tag out to let Burter continue, as this is the canon path.

Not Deflecting the Crusher Ball

The other path involves not deflecting the Crusher Ball and proceeding with the fight as is. Jeice is fairly easy to handle and Goku’s Spirit Bomb comes in clutch should you find yourself on the receiving end of a beatdown. Defeat Jeice and an alternate ending will play out.
