Metaphor ReFantazio is filled with much content for players to explore and enemies to tackle. Among these, some can be downright horrifying while others capture the fantastical spirit of the game. The Flame Dragon Mauna is one such boss fight, posing an incredible challenge for players to overcome. The dragon utilizes fire to deal incredible damage to players and their party members. While this is an optional boss fight in the game, nothing beats the satisfaction of taking down a dragon boss in an RPG.

How to Beat Fire Dragon Mauna in Metaphor ReFantazio
Before you start on your journey to take down Fire Dragon Mauna, you will need to prepare accordingly. It is recommended that you take a few ice chunks and healing items with you to the boss fight. This will allow you to deal with the boss’ fire damage and keep your party in the game. These are the recommended Archetypes for each member of your party for the Fire Dragon Mauna boss:
- Protagonist – Seeker
- Grius – Mage
- Strohl – Warrior
Once the fight starts, use the Blizz attack from Grius’ Mage Archetype to exploit Fire Dragon Mauna’s vulnerability to ice attacks. You can repeatedly use this spell to deal a lot of damage to the boss. During this time, you can also use the previously acquired Ice Chunks by having the Protagonist and Strohl throw them at the boss. Strohl can also help keep the total damage taken low. This is because Warrior Archetypes are resistant to fire damage.
You can use the Protagonist’s Healer Archetype capabilities to constantly heal the party members during the fight. The boss can dish out a ton of damage throughout the battle, so you can use the Dei skill to keep your party in the fight. Do note that you can completely avoid this battle by simply not approaching the boss.
