The Tomb of Lament is a place you may not want to visit unprepared in Atlus’ latest RPG. It does not have a wide variety of enemies, but the overall vibe of the dungeon and its final boss could make your skin crawl. It can be an eerie place to visit when everything seems foggy.

Players can unlock the said location as part of the Grieving Ghost of the Goblet Bounty quest. Most of the unique dungeons that you will come across in the game will most probably have some sort of bounty lurking inside. Good for us because who doesn’t need some extra Reeves?

The main boss in the area is Fatolich. Some preparation and planning can help clear the way ahead for you.

A Warm Welcome in the Tomb of Lament

Not every enemy here is lurking behind a wall waiting to jump you. However, there are plenty of them to keep you busy before you turn to face the final boss of the dungeon.

  • The First Encounter: As soon as you enter the tomb, a Pyrite Imitec will be there to greet you from the closest room to your right. He may not be your biggest concern yet. Keep heading west, and you will see a way heading downstairs. Before that, you may have to either dodge or eliminate the Guptauros in the way.
  • Some More Guptauros for You: The second, third, and fourth Guptauros are also lurking in the same corridors. Try continuing on your path using the side rooms. Not every battle is worth the effort, especially when you are already pursuing a bounty.
  • Carrying Forward: You will find paths splitting north and east. If you wish to stick to the objective, head east right away. However, feel free to loot everything you can if you head north. The staircase on the east pathway will lead you to another Guptauros.
  • Almost There: Head left immediately if you don’t wish to engage. Go south and enter the room located on the south-east from the staircase you just climbed. Flip the lever, head south through the newly opened wall, take the first right, and head downstairs.
  • Heading Into a Fight Against the Boss: You have two choices – either go north or go south. Heading north will help you progress in the quest much quicker. Go straight, head left, climb the staircase, flip the lever close to you, and you are all set to proceed. Loot whatever items you can find here before securing the bounty you came for.

Fulfill Your Destiny by Finishing the Boss in the Tomb of Lament

Not all the enemies in the corridors are as fearsome as the Fatolich, but they all seem to have some common weaknesses. Almost every hostile mob you encounter in the Tomb of Lament will be weak to either Ice or Light attacks, or both. This is something that you can use against Fatolich, combined with some other strategies.

  • Elemental Plan Against the Boss: What you would want to do against Fatolich is pretty straight forward. The fearsome foe is vulnerable to Strike and Light damage. Note that he is ‘resistant’ to Ice, Fire, Electric, Dark, and Wind attacks. Try to exploit the weaknesses to skyrocket your chances of winning.
  • Choose Your Party for the Battle: As all Metaphor ReFantazio fans must know by now, not all Archetypes work well against all the bosses. The key is to keep experimenting to strike a balance. Magic Knight and Cleric/Healer are two classes that you would want to keep in your party when heading into battle against Fatolich.
  • Strategy Comes Into Play: Your main focus should be dealing massive damage to the boss in question using Synthesis Skills from your Cleric. Be careful because he can also summon a Chimeza which can use Deiamahan to heal its master. So, make sure to bring down the monstrous pet whenever possible.
