VS Chill Inhibitor is a stasis rapid-fire frame grenade launcher introduced in the Vesper’s Host dungeon during Episode: Revenant. Heavy Grenade Launchers are powerful damage-dealing weapons favored for the sheer damage they can do. While typically only a niche choice in PvP, the VS Chill Inhibitor looks to be a monster in PvE. The VS Chill Inhibitor can be enhanced, which gives it better stats and enhanced perks for columns 3 and 4. This guide will discuss the PvE and PvP god rolls and how to get the VS Chill Inhibitor grenade launcher.

What Is the VS Chill Inhibitor God Roll in Destiny 2?
A god roll is the best combination of perks and masterwork that a weapon can get. God rolls are often sought after as they are considered the ultimate drop of that weapon and the most effective roll used in most content. In most situations, there are two god rolls for any gun, a roll for PvE and one for PvP. The Vs Chill Inhibitor has an extremely powerful PvE god roll that everyone should try and grab as soon as they can. The weapon shreds through any encounter that requires damage on a single target. Alternatively, the PvP roll, while decent, can be skipped as it is similar to other god rolls on easier-to-acquire weapons.

PvE Breakdown
After the Into the Light event, most people agreed that a grenade launcher beating out the powerful Edge Transit was going to be difficult. We didn’t have to wait too long for it to happen, though, as the VS Chill Inhibitor is one of the most powerful heavy weapons in the game. For its standard traits, we want to keep with what works for most heavy grenade launchers: Hard Launch and Spike Grenades. Those perks just give us a nice little boost to damage, but aren’t super necessary if you don’t get them. As with most damage-dealing heavy weapons, a Handling masterwork is the best thing to have, but don’t feel bad if you don’t get it.
Now we get the meat and potatoes of what makes the VS Chill Inhibitor grenade launcher so powerful in PvE. The ultimate damage-dealing traits combine Envious Arsenal and Bait and Switch. These two perks were made for each other. All you have to do is shoot both of your other weapons at your target and then unload your VS Chill Inhibitor into the target. Repeat the process. Since Envious Arsenal reloads your weapon, you don’t even have to worry about reloading. Combine this with a Back-Up Mag mod to get the best results.
Other PvE Rolls of Note
- Cascade Point / Bait and Switch
- An option for more burst damage at the cost of total damage
- Rimestealer / Chill Clip
- This option is mostly for Stasis synergy
PvP VS Chill Inhibitor God Roll
The best perks for the VS Chill Inhibitor PvP God Roll are Volatile Launch, High-Explosive Orinance, Danger Zone, and Chain Reaction. These provide important stats, utility, and damage for the weapon.
The following list is the best perks for the VS Chill Inhibitor PvP God Roll in Destiny 2:
- Launcher Barrel: Volatile Launch
- Magazine: High-Explosive Ordinance
- Column 3 Trait: Danger Zone
- Column 4 Trait: Chain Reaction
- Masterwork: Blast Radius
- Origin Trait: Bray Legacy
- Weapon Mod: Quick Access Sling
PvP Breakdown
While it is an absolute monster in PvE, VS Chill Inhibitor is simply an adequate weapon to use in PvP. It is functional with a decent roll, but you could easily replace it with another similar roll on another grenade launcher to achieve the same results. Since it’s PvP, we want to increase our blast radius, so perks like Volatile Launch and High-Explosive Ordinance are good here.
The Danger Zone and Chain Reaction combo shows up a lot on PvP grenade launchers. The VS Chill Inhibitor is no exception. These perks increase the chance of hitting multiple targets while simultaneously improving your chance of surviving your own explosions. As stated previously, this weapon can absolutely perform in PvP. We still can’t recommend going after the PvP roll though since you can get the exact same roll on other much easier to acquire weapons.
