The choice offered to you here is merely a facade, and the outcome remains the same irrespective of it. Whether you willingly choose to help Glodell or not, you will end up fighting Gideaux in Metaphor ReFantazio.
What Happens if You Choose to Help Glodell?
If you choose to help Glodell yourself, you will end up interfering in the fight and Gideaux will board your Gauntlet Runner to fight you. The fight might be a bit annoying since you cannot attack Gideaux directly and will have to defeat his Mage Monks instead.
