The Weapons Tier List will analyze the best and worst weapons in the Elden Ring based on their damage output, survivability, utility, and flexibility.
This Elden Ring Tier List will examine and rate the best and worst weapons based on their effectiveness and versatility. Many of them have scaling values which usually impact their effectiveness to enhance based on designated stat. Each of them consumes your character’s stats to modify how much damage it deals depending on the letter rating. The better the letter the more stats will affect the equipped one’s damage. Some of them are helpful during boss fights, while others are geared toward AOE only. Moreover, survivability and the utility of healing, debuffing, or buffing allies are especially useful.

What are the Best Weapons in Elden Ring?
Blasphemous Blade is the best weapon in Elden Ring and can be obtained by defeating one of the major bosses in the game. This sword is a must-have for pretty much everybody because it has a passive ability where anytime something in your vicinity dies then it will replenish your health or any time you get a kill with this, it will replenish your health.
Its powerful left trigger ability sends out a big wave of fire and will knock any smaller enemies down that get hit with this. Use this one to stagger the bosses as well and also deal high damage. However, you can also use Backhand Blade which lets you dodge to the side for a strike, or use Bloodfiend’s Arm for high physical damage and heavy attacks. For an alternative, you can also use Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword for an explosive AoE effect and Milady for excellent damage and posture break.

Mohgwyn’s Sacred Spear (D Tier)
This great spear gets Strength and Arcane scaling. You get access to the piercing-type damage along with a bunch of really good poking attacks, extremely high stance damage, and power stance. You can pair it alongside of shield and attack & block at the same time. It actually does get bleed too and being that actually scales best with Arcane. Its weapon skill Bloodboon Ritual is just downright ridiculous. This thing for 20 FP rains down a bunch of blood from the sky and there is like massive AOE attack that hits a 360-degree radius. It does not go that far but it goes far enough that you can just melt all enemies surrounding you.
Mohgwyn’s Sacred Spear Pros
- Does Bleed per hit
- Longest Great Spear
- Bloodboon Ritual deals massive damage
- Poise damage
- Good Synergy
Mohgwyn’s Sacred Spear Cons
- Bloodboon Ritual is too costly
- Need to beat Mohg, Lord of Blood
You can obtain Mohgwyn’s Sacred Spear by defeating Mohg, Lord of Blood. This enemy can be found in the Mohgwyn Dynasty Mausoleum, in the Siofra River in the game. This one allows you to proc Bleed multiple times against bosses and other enemies.
Sacred Relic Sword (D+ Tier)
You are not going to see much use of this sword unless you are rune farming at the end of the game or you start a new game plus. In a new game plus or if you are trying to rune a farm and kill multiple enemies quickly then this sword is great at killing small enemies. Not everything is about dealing damage to bosses, there are other enemy types in this game, and the majority of your time playing it you are going to be in a boss fight. This sword’s special ability will instantly clear out any small group of enemies. However, its special ability is not the best against bosses and it takes way too long to charge up.
Sacred Relic Sword Pros
- Good damage
- Fast moveset
- can stunlock
Sacred Relic Sword Pros
- Punishable
- Prone to roll BS
The Sacred Relic Sword is obtained by exchanging it for Elden Remembrance by visiting Enia at Roundtable Hold. This sword excels at killing everything that is not a boss. However, it cannot be infused with Ashes of Ware as it scales poorly through strength. Using the Magic or Consumables will not enchant this weapon in the game.
Sword of St. Trina (C Tier)
Sword of St Trina is a Straight Sword that has the ability to put enemies to sleep which can be really handy for certain situations. If you are in a boss fight and you put the boss to sleep that gives you enough time to heal yourself, drink some potions, and switch armor. It gives you the perfect amount of time to prepare for what your next attack is going to be. Unfortunately, it does not work for every single boss because some bosses cannot go to sleep but what it will do instead is stagger them for about two seconds.
Sword of St. Trina Pros
- Decent damage
- Fair Range
- Hard to punish
- Best-handed multiplier
- Does Sleep build up
Sword of St. Trina Cons
- Lack of wield moveset
- Not all bosses are vulnerable to Sleep
Some of the bigger and stronger bosses at the end resist it all the end. This is a great for boss fight and deserves a place in C Tier. You can obtain this one from the Forsaken Ruins, near the Rotview Balcony Site of Grace.
Wing of Astel (C+ Tier)
It is another great weapon because when you swing it has two major attacks. Its regular heavy attacks send out the blue waves of magic damage. The left trigger ability slices through the air and sends out a big wave of magic smoke and then all the magic smoke explodes. If you can run up to a boss then spam this ability and it will do a ton of damage overtime to the boss.
Wing of Astel Pros
- Massive damage
- Have Bleed
- Decent Moveset
- Hard to punish
Wing of Astel Cons
- Short Range
- No kick
- Difficult for dead angle
The Wing of Astel is good at doing a bunch of damage and if a lot of smaller enemies are running up into your face, just use a left trigger and send out magic smoke wave. You can find it in a small chest at the top of the ruins in southern Uhl Palace Ruins.
Bolt of Gransax (B Tier)
This weapon is really cool because it does lightning damage. Having a big spear and a big shield will let you sit beside the shield and just poke at enemies at a safe distance. It also has a cool ranged attack that you can do with its special ability. It basically just summons this giant lightning bolt and you can just sling it to something and do a ton of damage and the range of this attack is really far too. So, you can safely hit enemies at a distance and you do not have to worry about them reaching you.
Bolt of Gransax Pros
- Decent damage
- Good Range
- Too much stamina is not required
- Poke behind the shield
Bolt of Gransax Cons
- Low critical damage
- Hard to dead angel with
It is one of the legendary weapons in the game that will grant you achievement and definitely lies in the B Tier in the list. This giant spear can be obtained by defeating Godfrey, First Elden Lord (Golden Shade) and then moving into the Leyndell, Royal Capital.
Envoy’s Long Horn (B+ Tier)
Envoy’s Long Horn is a Great Hammer (Warhammer) that has three different versions of the horn, a smaller horn, a medium horn, and a really big horn. The big horn shoots a giant bubble and the smaller horn shoots just one bubble at a time. This shoots out just a bunch of bubbles and they go out and track any of the nearby enemies. However, the downside with this is that the range is not that good with the bubble but they do a high amount of damage. If there is a large group of enemies then it will kill pretty much all of them.
Envoy’s Long Horn Pros
- Good range
- Rolling R1
- Can dead angle
Envoy’s Long Horn Cons
- Punishable
- Prone to roll BS
It does good damage to bosses, so if you can stagger a boss and then do the bubble move then you are going to just melt through a boss’s health bar. This is a weapon that anyone can use with zero effort. You can obtain it from the same enemies wielding it in Miquella’s Haligtree and is also dropped by the Large Oracle Envoy in East Capital Rampart.
Bloodhound’s Fang (A Tier)
This is a bleed weapon that has a special ability to dodge backward to get out of the way of any sort of big attack. Use this sword for running up to bosses, doing a bunch of bleed damage then hitting the left trigger and then escaping back behind you. It does bleed damage along with the cool ability and it is good throughout an entire playthrough.
Bloodhound’s Fang Pros
- High damage skill
- Buffed to apply bleed
- Viable to endgame
Bloodhound’s Fang Cons
- Cannot be infused with Ashes of War
Use the Somber Smithing Stones to upgrade the Bloodhound’s Fang. You can obtain it as a reward by defeating Bloodhound Knight Darriwil in Forlorn Hound Evergaol. It has the most range out of the entire class, the highest damage, and a bunch of Strength and Dexterity can just make it do way more damage than all the other curve swords.
Rivers of Blood (A+ Tier)
Rivers of Blood has a bit of a mixed reaction in the community. Some frowned upon this weapon because of how good it was. When you pick up this one, all you have to do is spam the left trigger ability and that’s it. This ability even when you run out of FP, you can still use this ability. However, it just does not do the bloody attack but it still does the animation. This Katana sword produces bleed damage so much and so frequently that it just melts through the health bar. The only thing that it does not do good against is stone creatures or any kind of creature that does not bleed.
Rivers of Blood Pros
- High range
- Quick moveset
- Goes well with buff
- Hard to punish
Rivers of Blood Cons
- Hard to dead angle
Even the most casual player can use this with very little effort and still just melt bosses making it A+ Tier in the list. You can obtain this one by defeating Bloody Finger Okina in the Church of Repose.
Backhand Blade (S Tier)
Backhand Blade is a newly introduced weapon class from the Shadow of Erdtree DLC. Backhand Blade is a kind of weapon that is infused with Ashes of War. Use the Magic or Consumables to buff this one or use Smithing Stones to upgrade the Backhand Blade.
Backhand Blade Pros
- Easy to obtain
- Dodge to the side for a strike
Backhand Blade Cons
- Short range
- No Kick
You can find the Backhand Blade in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Move to the Scorched Ruins site of grace beside a coffin, in the Inquisitor enemies’ area of Gravesite Plain to find it.
Blasphemous Blade (S+ Tier)
Blasphemous Blade is a Greatsword and one of the most unique weapons in Elden Ring with some absolutely Godlike potential. It is very powerful, does huge damage, has a really good ability, and also heals you. It excels and even stun locks enemies keeping them on the floor so cannot even touch you.
Blasphemous Blade Pros
- Effective at dead angles
- can stun lock
- Quick Moveset
- Massive damage
Blasphemous Blade Cons
- Punishable
It can be obtained by trading Remembrance of the Blasphemous with Enia at Roundtable Hold. This is a must-have weapon in Elden Ring if you want to dominate because you do not need any kind of practice and skills to use it. This is surely an S+ type due to the amount of damage, range, and additional fire damage.
