Preparing to infiltrate the Skyrunner Charadrius? Here’s how to defeat Maintenance Chief Ceiba, the boss you will find inside.
You wouldn’t want to be unprepared when Maintenance Chief Ceiba turns to face you in battle. If you don’t map out your opponent’s weaknesses and strengths, any fight can turn into a nightmare. While your character will probably make it out alive, the winning condition will not be ideal.
So, let’s save you some trouble and prepare ahead. Once you take up the Infiltrate the Charadrius quest, you can expect to run into Ceiba inside the Skyrunner Charadrius. He won’t be pleased with the Protagonist and, as expected, a boss battle will follow.
The good thing is that he isn’t the toughest boss in this quest. However, a step in the wrong direction might give him the upper hand and ruin your progress. So, let’s prepare thoroughly for this one.

Plenty of Weaknesses to Exploit
Despite his big appearance, the Chief is not a skilled defender. You may fear his attacks, but his defense is a weak point to exploit. Moreover, you don’t have to worry about bringing in some magical items and skills to defeat this boss. Atlus balanced this mission by giving the bosses some easy weaknesses to keep you from feeling overwhelmed.
With Slash, Strike, and Pierce being his weaknesses, focus on physical attacks to chip away at his health. On top of it, Chief Ceiba doesn’t block or resist any status effects either, so you can experiment to your heart’s content.
Building Up a Party That Strikes Well
First up, you will want to keep the Protagonist with the Faker archetype. This will help you debuff your enemy whenever the opportunity presents itself. Strohl can be a Pugilist for this run if you have access to this Archetype since this will allow you to deal strong Strike damage to the chief. You can increase the damage dealt by adding another Pugilist to your party in the form of Hulkenberg. Lastly, if you have the Commander Archetype available, assign it to Heismay, and he will take care of the opening moments of the battle.
Try positioning your Faker in the back and putting at least one Pugilist in the front, next to the Commander. The other Pugilist can stand in the back and deal secondary damage. You should also adopt an aggressive strategy because the chief is already bad at defending himself.
Strategizing Against the Chief
Maintenance Chief Ceiba loves using Tetrakarn, as it allows him to remove his weaknesses. The magic wall can prove difficult to bypass unless you have a Commander or a Magic Seeker to negate the said skill. Since the Commander is so important in this strategy, use the Heartbreak Strategem to kick off the fight. This negates Ceiba’s Magic Wall and forces him to reapply it every turn, allowing you to defend yourself better since he can’t attack much after wasting one move.
You can also use Synthesis Skills to bypass the shield that Ceiba puts up in his defense. You can then deal damage without getting hit by the shield in question. Lastly, remember that you have to be as offensive in the fight as possible since you have to defeat Ceiba within three turns.

- EXP: 1800
