Go through this detailed boss guide if you want a sound strategy to defeat Cabio and Salva without losing your mind.
Cabio and Salva will be your favorite battle during the Infiltrate the Charadrius quest if you like annoying bosses. As if one skilled opponent wasn’t already bad, this duo might make you sigh and pause the game for a while.
For those who still wish to power through this segment of the mission, we have a guide that can prove to be helpful when used in the right way. Note that there is no definitive way of fighting a boss in Metaphor ReFantazio. So, feel free to experiment with the guide we are about to share.
Once you begin the story quest mentioned above, you will face a total of four bosses. Well, five if you count individual entities since Cabio and Salva appear together. You should also be Level 32 to pass through the Skyrunner Charadrius.
Preparing to Push Cabio and Salva to Their Limits
Mapping Out the Playfield
The most important thing to do, when it comes to battles, is to estimate what your opponent is capable of doing. You should also note which attacks and skills will work in your favor once you go on the offensive.
While Helmsman Cabio is weak against Electric attacks, his friend Grand Chief Salva blocks Electric but is weak to Pierce damage. This is what makes the fight so complicated since players have to balance out the duo’s differing weaknesses and strengths when putting a team together.
What to Pick Against the Bosses
Since Cabio can’t handle Electric attacks, your natural response would be to take a Mage into the battle. Go ahead and make your Protagonist the Wizard this time around. They will be useful in casting Electric skills on Cabio. Meanwhile, don’t forget to assign Strohl the Pugilist Archetype because skills like Power Thrust can be useful in dealing Pierce damage.
Making Hulkenberg a Magic Knight will also help you deal more Pierce damage to Grand Chief Salva. She can also use Mediline to heal, making this Archetype a must for the battle. Lastly, we will assign Heismay the Assassin Archetype, as both Steal and Assassinate will work greatly in your favor in this battle.
Heading Into the Battle Against Cabio and Salva
The best strategy in this fight is to be mindful of whom you are targeting before each attack. Both the opponents have different weaknesses and strengths. So, if you accidentally use an Electric skill on the Grand Chief, you will end up wasting a turn. With that out of the way, we think it’s better if you take care of the Helmsman first since he is a critical hitter. Prioritize taking him out to make things easier for yourself.
Since Hulkenberg was assigned a Magic Knight Archetype for this fight, you can also use her Support skills to their full potential. Once Cabio falls, the fight becomes easier, and you can reapply your buffs before defeating Grand Chief Salva to end things once and for all.

Once you defeat this dangerous duo, the following rewards will be waiting for you:
- EXP: 3000
- A-EXP: 120
- MAG: 250
- Reeve: 4500
