Take a look at the Ammo Mods and their major and minor augments as we explore the latest features in Black Ops 6.
Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is bringing some interesting features to the new Zombies mode, and enhanced Ammo Mods are one of them. First introduced in the Black Ops series, they will now arrive in the latest game. However, there is a fun twist waiting for players.
The sixth entry in the BO series will feature an augmentation system wherein you can upgrade and unlock a whole new level of chaos for your loadout. Putting it simply, these Augments are upgrades to enhance your Perks, Field Upgrades, and Ammo Mods. In this article, we will focus on the enhanced Ammo Mods.
The official Call of Duty blog has revealed information on the new Augmentations in the Zombies mode. There are six of them – three Major Augments and three Minor Augments. You can only equip two at a time simultaneously, one Major and one Minor.
All Ammo Mods Augments in Black Ops 6 Zombies
You will have access to five Ammo Mods at launch, namely Brain Rot, Cryo Freeze, Dead Wire, Napalm Burst, and Shadow Rift. While almost all the Major Augments for all these mods are unique, some of the minor ones overlap in terms of their purpose.
Dead Wire
This Ammo Mod unlocks immediately, and the bullets deal electric damage. Each bullet has a chance to stun a normal or special enemy and lead to the creation of an electric damage field.
- Major Augments: First off, Chain Lightning can spread the stun to other enemies as well. Big Game will stun elite enemies too. Lastly, Lightning Strike is a bolt of lightning from the sky that stuns all normal and special enemies in the area.
- Minor Augments: High Voltage deals more damage. The Dead Wire cooldown time is reduced with Haste. The Stun and Electric field last longer with Extension.
Napalm Burst
This Ammo Mod will unlock once players reach Level 6 in the Zombies mode. As the name and the graphic suggest, it deals fire damage to enemies. Bullets can apply burn effect by chance on normal and special enemies. They do deal damage over time.
- Major Augments: To burn elite enemies, you must equip Big Game. If you wish to increase the burn effect damage, equip Thermite. Finally, the burned enemies will explode upon death and spread fire to other enemies if you apply the Firebomb Augment.
- Minor Augments: Once again, Extension increases the duration of the burn. Incendiary can spread damage to a nearby enemy upon each tick. Contact Burn deals more damage on the first burn effect.
Cryo Freeze
Players can unlock this one when they reach Level 14. If you are interested in dabbling in frost damage, this bullet type will be your best friend. You will have a chance to slow down normal or special enemies and make them brittle, increasing the damage received.
- Major Augments: Big Game is back to slow down elite enemies. You will have a chance to slow down other enemies if a frozen enemy is killed using the Ice Cloud Augment. Frozen Stiff will allow you to freeze an enemy in its place.
- Minor Augments: Freezer Burn increases damage to frozen enemies. Use Liquid Nitrogen to significantly boost your chance to activate Cryo Freeze. Lastly, the Extension should be equipped to increase the slow duration.
Brain Rot
This unique Ammo Mod has nothing to do with the popular GenZ humor. On the contrary, when unlocked at Level 27, it will deal toxic damage, and each bullet hit will have a chance to convert a normal or special enemy into an ally. Temporarily, of course.
- Major Augments: Increase your team numbers using Plague, as it allows a charmed enemy to convert other enemies too. Pheromone will allow a charmed enemy to distract its nearby normal and special enemies for a small duration. Charm elite enemies too using the Big Game Augment.
- Minor Augments: You can keep your new friends for longer using Extension. Reduce the cool down on Brain Rot by using Haste. When charmed enemies no longer serve you, Explosive will make them explode and deal toxic damage to nearby enemies.
Shadow Rift
Gift your enemies a trip into a small black hole by unlocking Shadow Rift at Level 44. Usually, the bullets will deal shadow damage, but each bullet will also have a chance to spawn a black hole on a normal or special enemy. This will warp away those nearby and drop some of them from the sky at lethal speed.
- Major Augments: Warping one enemy will deal shadow damage to others if you have Topple Danger equipped. Explosive Rain will cause the dropping enemies to explode on contact. Allow the rift to open on elite enemies with the help of Big Game.
- Minor Augments: Haste reduces shadow rift cooldown, while the Targeted Augment will drop warped enemies on other enemies on the ground. Lastly, Supermassive will allow the singularity to increase its lethal radius and kill more enemies.
