However, the show and the manga became quite enjoyable as it progressed. One of the reasons why the series was well-received initially was due to the existence of characters from the original Naruto series.
It goes without saying that Naruto Uzumaki saved the series on many occasions. However, there was one more character that fans loved to see on screen. This character is none other than Sasuke Uchiha. He was criticized for being a bad father. But, netizens also appreciated him for his ability to fight.

How Did Sasuke Lose His Rinnegan in the Boruto Series?

He lost his Rinnegan all thanks to the protagonist of the series. This might sound odd to those who haven’t watched the anime.
This was at the point in time when Isshiki was holding on for dear life. He was moments away from death. Additionally, the protagonist of the series was taken over by Momoshiki Otsutsuki. Boruto has become the host to the Otsutsuki, and, at that point in time, Momoshiki had complete control over his body.
Given that Sasuke was on the battlefield, he was distracted momentarily due to the chaos all around him. At that moment, Momoshiki made his move. After taking over Boruto’s body, he lunged at Sasuke’s blind spot and pierced his eye with a Kunai. The eye he targeted was the Rinnegan. This is how Sasuke lost his Rinnegan. Unfortunately, we only got to see glimpses of this ability and there was a ton of untapped potential. He was saving Konoha from external threats from the shadows. He also managed to create portals to go to other dimensions. Such were the powers granted by the Rinnegan.
Naturally, Sasuke has become extremely weak in the series. He has lost all the aforementioned abilities. Furthermore, he hasn’t shown his combat skills after the time skip. It is clear that Sasuke is exceptionally weak and he will most likely not revert to his most powerful form ever again. Will Sasuke Regain His Rinnegan?
This is an interesting question that most Naruto fans are concerned about. He is the Uchiha prodigy who is an Indra reincarnate. Therefore, they would love to see Sasuke in all his glory once agin. However, it is very unlikely that Sasuke will get back his Rinnegan in the series. There are plenty of fan theories floating around on the internet concerning the potential revival of Sasuke’s Rinnegan. However, it simply does not make sense from a writer’s standpoint.
The main reason why Sasuke lost his Rinnegan was to give the spotlight to the future generation. The writers felt that the best way to make the newer generation shine would be to weaken the older generation. Sasuke lost his Rinnegan, and Naruto lost Kurama. Suddenly, the next generation was ready to take the mantle. This wasn’t ideal, and the writers could have found other ways to set the stage for the newer generation.
Sasuke retrieving his Rinnegan would undo all the progression that has happened in the Animanga series so far. Therefore, it is highly unlikely that Sasuke will get back his Rinnegan by the end of the series.

There is absolutely no doubt that Sasuke is one of the most beloved characters in the series. It was hard to see him become so weak in such a short span of time. Fans want to witness Sasuke’s glory again. In an attempt to justify this, fans flooded the internet with a variety of theories stating how he could potentially recover it. With that said, it is very unlikely that such a thing will happen. It is important to understand that the new generation has taken over the series. Based on how things are progressing in Two Blue Vortex, Boruto and other shinobis from his generation are the first line of defense for Konoha. Therefore, fans must make peace with the fact that the Uchiha prodigy could potentially never get his Rinnegan back in the series.
