Discover 5 exciting reasons to join the Pokemon GO Wild Area event, including rare Pokemon, unique rewards, and more!
Pokemon GO’s new event Wild Area is coming on November 23, 2024, at 10 a.m. local time—no matter where you are in the world. The Wild Area event brings a fresh experience to Pokemon GO, and many might be unfamiliar with what it offers. Luckily, Niantic has provided a lot of information to prepare everyone. The in-person celebration is set for November 16, 2024, in Fukuoka, Japan.
In this article, we are going to explore five top features that make this event worth exploring. Let’s dig in!
1. New Pokemon
During the Pokemon GO Wild Area event, Gigantamax Toxtricity will make its first appearance in Max Battles. It will join Dynamax Toxtricity in 6-star battles at both the Fukuoka and Global events, offering an exciting challenge for trainers.
In addition, the event will raise the Max Particle (MP) limits for players. Trainers attending the Fukuoka event will enjoy a daily MP cap of 8000, while those without tickets at the Global event will be limited to 1600. However, ticket holders for the Global event will have a higher MP limit of 3200 per day.
2. Legendary Pokemon
During the Wild Area event of Pokemon GO, you will have the opportunity to encounter Origin Forme Dialga and Palkia in raids. These powerful Pokemon may also have their signature moves. Origin Forme Dialga could come with the Charged Attack Roar of Time, while Origin Forme Palkia may feature Spacial Rend. Don’t miss your chance to catch these legendary Pokemon with their special abilities!
Origin Dialga brings the powerful Roar of Time ability, which affects items like Incenses, Lucky Eggs, and Star Pieces. It pauses the timers for these items, with the extended duration relying on the amount of resources used.
Meanwhile, Origin Palkia’s Spacial Rend expands the interaction radius with wild Pokemon. The longer this effect lasts depends on how many resources are spent, making it a useful tool for catching more Pokemon in a larger area.
3. Mighty Pokemon
The Pokemon GO Wild Area this year will showcase an abundance of Electric- and Poison-type Pokemon. However, the real excitement comes with encounters with mighty Pokemon! These extraordinary and powerful creatures will challenge trainers, offering a unique experience for those ready to test their skills against some of the strongest opponents in the game.
Mighty Pokemon are all fully evolved. So, it’s easy to spot on the map. They have a higher likelihood of appearing in XL or XXL sizes and tend to boast stronger IVs.
While these Pokemon are more powerful, they are also harder to catch than their base types. To help with this challenge, you can use Safari Balls, which give you a better chance of capturing these formidable creatures.
4. Safari Ball
In Pokemon GO’s Wild Area, Niantic has added a special Poke Ball to enhance long play sessions. The Safari Ball, a familiar item from the main series, returns to the game. In the original games, it was used in Safari Zones and stood out with its unique design.
Safari Balls have a higher capture rate compared to regular Poke Balls, making them more effective. In the main series, their capture rate was similar to that of Ultra Balls. Niantic has likely replicated this feature in Pokemon GO.
Global ticket holders in the Pokemon GO Wild Area event will get a Timed Research task every hour. These tasks will reward extra GO Safari Balls. The tasks expire after one hour, so don’t forget to claim your rewards in time!
At 6:15 p.m. local time each day, any unused GO Safari Balls will disappear from your Item Bag. Make sure to use them before then!
5. New Avatar of Pikachu and Snorlax
Pokemon GO’s Wild Area event brings back Rock Star and Pop Star Pikachu. These rare Cosplay Pikachu forms were available only once before. They are now some of the rarest Pokemon in the game.
Additionally, a special Rock ‘n’ Roll Snorlax will make an appearance. This version of Snorlax wears a stylish leather jacket with pins, spikes, and studs. It might just become the coolest Pokemon, possibly even surpassing Sunglasses Blastoise.
