GSC Game World’s survival RPG STALKER 2 is a game of choice, where your choices matter and affect the gameplay. Throughout the journey, you will join hands with 12 factions around the Zone. They are Bandits, the Duty, Ecologists, Freedom, the Loners, Mercenaries, the Military, Monolith, Noon, Spark, SIRCAA, and the Ward.
Your actions toward these factions and their members increase or decrease your reputation. The Reputation system determines your relationship with various factions and how they interact with you. What Happens When Your Reputation Drops in STALKER 2?
Unlike most games, you can’t sledge or kill the NPCs in STALKER 2 for fun. You have to pay for your actions towards various factions. If your reputation level towards a specific faction drops too low, you will face serious consequences.
It makes the faction and its members hostile toward you, which causes their members to attack you at sight and restrict the base benefits. Whenever you cross paths with any faction members, they will chase you with the intent to kill.
On the other hand, factions with good reputations open their base, which you can use as a safe place to stay or sleep. It also gives access to special faction-based missions. Since STALKER 2 has multiple endings, your reputation with various factions might shape the narration and the ending.
STALKER 2 Mistakes That Can Ruin Your Faction Reputation
In STALKER 2, your mundane actions often spoil your reputation with a faction and affect their view of you. This involves killing faction members regularly or stealing their camp and base. Although completing a faction mission mends your relationship, failing it has a drastic effect.
So you should handle every mission with caution by analysing the outcomes. Betraying a faction’s trust by joining hands with their rival factions and teaming up with their enemies is another mistake that players should be aware of when dealing with factions.
How To Fix and Increase Reputation With Factions in STALKER 2?
No matter how nice you try to be, it is still possible to end up hostile to any faction because of a low reputation. Whether you accidentally kill any faction member for self-defense or fail a faction mission, it decreases your reputation with the faction. There are several ways to fix it.
Avoid the Faction Members for a While
Don’t ever cross paths with the specific faction members, as facing them or encountering them fuels their animosity towards you. So, it is a wise choice to avoid them for a while. Over time, they will forget your past actions and won’t attack on sight eventually. But it doesn’t mean they forgive you for what you have done.
Negotiate with the Faction Leader
To reclaim a neutral reputation, you need to negotiate with the Faction leader. Keep in mind that several factions in STALKER 2 have multiple leaders and bases. Try to sort out the feud with the Faction leader, which requires you to pay your hard-earned money or complete some redemption tasks in order to prove your loyalty.
Complete Faction Missions
Once you are good, you can now take up the faction missions and complete them to earn a reputation. Completing these missions unlocks benefits such as resources and support.
Make sure to complete the mission without fail even if it takes killing a member of another faction. Yes, it ruins your reputation with the other faction but the game puts you in situations where you need to do these sorts of things to test your diplomacy.
