Players can either kill Solder or let him walk free quite in Stalker 2. What is the best course of action to take?
Players get to choose whether to kill or knock out Solder during the second mission in Stalker 2. The NPC can seem like a nuisance at first which is best put down all at once. However, there are consequences to your actions thanks to one of the game’s RPG mechanics.
The man seemingly sets Skif up during the first mission. So, it only makes sense that you would want to take your revenge when faced with the choice of whether to shoot him or just put him down for a nap. But first, we would like you to weigh the pros and cons.
When you finally find your target in the Behind Seven Seals main quest, you have to infiltrate an IPSF base and locate Solder. You interrogate him to find out that he wasn’t the culprit that you thought him to be. Regardless, the cutscene eventually leads up to him trying to kill you. The tables turn on him as Skif takes the upper hand and can either shoot or knock him out.
Shooting Solder will result in him instantly dying, giving you a below-average loot. He has a basic rifle on him and a few other materials that would probably perish soon. Moreover, you won’t see him ever again in the story.
Knock out Solder and there will be no loot on him. However, he does appear much later in the story, in a quest called The Hornet’s Nest. This is in the latter half of the story. Solder repays you for sparing him by proving to be of great help. His presence makes the mission much easier in comparison especially if you are playing the game at higher difficulties.
Should Stalker 2 Players Spare Solder?
We shall highly recommend you to let Solder go. This is the most practical action. Firstly, the man that Skif was after, wasn’t completely behind setting him up. Secondly, he was defending himself in the harsh world of The Zone.
Moreover, even if your internal justice system believes that Solder deserves to be deleted from the rest of the game, he causes no harm if you let him live. There are no negative consequences if you let him walk free.
He only appears again in the story much later. Additionally, you will benefit if you let him live. So, we believe letting Solder off the hook is the best choice you can make during the Behind Seven Seals mission.
