Sorceress Class Overview in Path of Exile 2

The Sorceress is one of two intelligence starting classes in Path of Exile 2. This class is heavily focused on elemental damage, elemental ailments, mana, and energy shields, making it somewhat akin to the Elementalist of Path of Exile 1. The sorceress excels in casting potent elemental spells and uses staves and wands to cast spells. You can switch between different staves to gain a variety of elemental attacks that increase combat versatility. The Sorceress has a mixed array of skills, each supporting a certain element.

Flame Wall, Spark, Comet, Ice Nova, and Arc are some of the best skills that players can use while fighting in combat. Sorceress can customize your playstyle through Ascendancy Classes, Stormweaver, and Chronomancer. Stormweaver focuses on enhancing elemental damage and Chronomancer exploits time to her advantage. Combine different elemental skills to take control of the battlefield and exploit enemy weaknesses. Maximize the damage output transitions between elemental attacks through the weapon-swapping feature. This class offers a dynamic and versatile playstyle, revolving around elemental magic.

This is a magic archetype that primarily uses elements to bring enemies to their knees. As a Sorceress, you should be able to use a variety of elements at your disposal to wreak havoc on everybody. Unlike the Warrior, it is more of a ranged class and probably wouldn’t excel in close combat situations.

Ascendancies are the specializations for your character, granting you additional options to customize them to your playstyle. Path of Exile has three Ascendancy Classes for every Class. At the beginning of the game, only two will be available per Class. As you progress you will unlock powerful ascendancy options to refine further and enhance your build. For the Sorceress, you can delve into control time with Chronomancer and Elemental Damage with Stormweaver.

The Chronomancer ascendancy aims at the Sorceress’ ability to exploit time to her perk. It stops time and changes into a last state to gain useful effects like resetting skill cooldowns and crowd control tactics. This has the power over time to be able to freeze time to give you time to attack your enemy, stopping everything around you.

The Stormweaver focuses on the Sorceress’ capabilities and elemental mastery. It enhances the frequency along with the potency of elemental effects and attacks. This is done through skills like Shaper of Storms, Tempest Caller, and Strike Twice. Stormweaver harnesses everything lightning. When she deals critical damage, she summons lightning swords and actually stacks up her shock effects on enemies. Her damage can amplify even further.

Chronomancer

Stormweaver

Shaper of Storms- All damage from hits contributes to Shock chance.

Tempest Caller- Grants Skill Elemental Storm. Trigger Elemental Storm on critical hit with spells. This is a great passive damage boost and some decent AoE in small spaces.

Strike Twice- Targets can be affected by two of your Shocks at the same time. 50% less Shock duration.
