Marvel Rivals is a third-person hero shooter but can you change the FOV in the game for a better shooting experience?
Marvel Rivals is majorly a third-person experience. Hero Shooters in third-person are rare because an additional character on the screen (the one that you selected) will clog some of the space. This is where FPS games have the golden opportunity to be fast-paced.
They also allow players to adjust the FOV (Field of View) even further to enhance their experience and allow them to see wider. But can you change your FOV to a third-person shooter in Marvel Rivals?
Unfortunately, players cannot tinker with the Field of View in settings while playing Marvel Rivals. No matter the platform you are playing on, the game runs on a default FOV setting. This promotes a fair game setting but can also be problematic for players new to third-person shooters.
A limited FOV might clog up the screen by your selected player. NetEase Games could rescue gamers from potential frustration by adding a first-person mode as well. Should we expect it any time soon?
Does Marvel Rivals Have First-Person?
As the game’s Steam page suggests, players should only expect third-person combat. This is great for Marvel fans as they will get to see their character on screen all the time, but Marvel Rivals also has some drawbacks. So, we are bound to have our questions regarding a potential first-person mode.
The sad news is that there is no official confirmation that the game will let you switch to first-person on will. Nor do we know whether it will ever be possible. Since the release date is only four days away, you can expect the game to be released completely in the third-person FOV.
One thing that FPS fans should note is that the game may be a hybrid of sorts, meaning you can switch to first-person while playing based on a partticular skill of a certain character. For example, The Punisher’s Culling Turret may let you shoot in first-person.
It’s not clear which characters will have access to such abilities. So, it’s up to the players to explore and find this out. And maybe, we will also get a changeable FOV in the game.
