Find out how you can play Hulk in Marvel Rivals as we explore this character’s abilities and playstyle in this detailed guide.
Hulk is a Vanguard in Marvel Rivals and is one of the most unique heroes in the game design-wise. Vanguards are tanks, and they charge in headfirst to create space that the Duelists can then capitalize on. Marvel Comic fans will be especially pleased with Hulk since you will also get to see the feared Monster Hulk in Marvel Rivals. Hulk is not the easiest character to play, because there are several layers and forms that you will have to navigate.
Staying true to the Bruce Banner lore, Hulk uses gamma radiation in his attacks. Once again, comic fans will relate a lot more to his entire kit in Marvel Rivals. In this Marvel Rivals guide, we will explore everything about Hulk, including his abilities, forms, how to play, and also look at the top team composition with him.

How To Play Hulk in Marvel Rivals?
Hulk’s Mobility
Hulk is a fairly mobile hero in Marvel Rivals, owing to his Incredible Leap abilities. This skill is available to both Hero Hulk and Monster Hulk, where he performs a massive leap to cover a significant amount of distance. If timed correctly, you can also intercept and damage airborne units with this ability.
When the Hulk is reverted to Bruce Banner, he does not have much mobility. Bruce Banner is equipped with a pistol and is not very fast or mobile. He is extremely fragile and vulnerable in this state.
Hulk’s Survivability
As Bruce Banner, Hulk is one of the weakest enemies with a measly 200 health. However, Hero Hulk has an HP of 650, and Monster Hulk has a whopping 1400 HP. Both Hero and Monster Hulk can sustain themselves fairly well in Marvel Rivals. Generally, all Vanguard characters have a larger health pool, owing to their playstyles.
Moreover, Hero Hulk has access to a shield via the Indestructible Guard skill. This also absorbs damage and allows Hulk to retaliate with a massive attack, thereby enhancing his overall survivability on the field.
Hulk Playstyle and Combos
Hulk is a very complex hero to play in Marvel Rivals and fits the role of a dive tank. As a dive tank, your main job is to go for the squishy characters rather than take a head-on fight. This is complemented by the fact that the Hulk can only deal melee attacks in this game. The overall idea of Hulk is simple, you need to build your ultimate and transform into Monster Hulk to deal a massive amount of damage. However, this is easier said than done.
Hulk’s main combo revolves around using his Radioactive Lockdown to immobilize opponents and then using Heavy Blow to punch enemies and deal damage. If the enemies are constantly shooting at you, then you can use Indestructible Guard to block and absorb damage at the same time and then deal a massive smash damage. Once you use Hero Hulk’s Ultimate and transform into Monster Hulk, your playstyle does not change, fortunately. However, you do lose out on Indestructible Guard skill altogether.
Monster Hulk’s ultimate World Ender in Marvel Rivals is a scene straight out of Avengers, where Hulk grabs an enemy and smashes them. This deals massive damage and is a confirmed kill on squishy characters. However, Monster Hulk is a time-limited transformation, so you need to make the best out of it while it remains active. The biggest risk to playing Hulk is surviving as the puny Bruce Banner and transforming to Hero Hulk.
Best Team Composition With Hulk in Marvel Rivals
Hulk is a dive hero in Marvel Rivals and performs the best with the following team composition:
Role | Characters |
Vanguard | Venom, Hulk |
Duelist | Spider-Man, Iron Man or Star-Lord |
Strategist | Rocket Raccoon or Luna Snow, Mantis |
Dive comps are the best suited for Hulk since he can leap in and disrupt the flow of the opponents. Paired with other dive heroes like Spider-Man or Star-Lord, or a poke hero like Iron Man, you can potentially become an unstoppable force in Marvel Rivals as Hulk. Venom is another top-tier dive tank that goes extremely well with Hulk.
Supports in this team mostly comprise of heroes who do not actively need to dive with you to support. Mantis and Luna Snow can easily heal you from afar, and you do not need to be in their direct LOS (line of sight). Moreover, they can also buff Hulk before you dive, thereby dealing more damage.
Hulk Counters in Marvel Rivals
Hulk’s biggest counter in Marvel Rivals are characters with good crowd control abilities. Storm and Iron Man are some of the top counters since it will be difficult for Hulk to reach them. However, the best counter for Hulk in Marvel Rivals is undoubtedly The Punisher.
The Punisher’s shotgun, Deliverance, can melt down Hulk entirely, making his massive health pool seem like a joke. If there’s a Rocket Raccoon paired with The Punisher in your opponent’s team, their Team Up Ability Ammo Overload spells the death of Hulk since The Punisher will have unlimited ammo on his Deliverance.
Tips and Tricks To Play Hulk in Marvel Rivals
You should keep the following things in mind while playing the Hulk in Marvel Rivals:
- Dive on the squishy characters as much as you can.
