90s Aesthetic
The expansion takes the ‘1999’ seriously, pushing for a more retro-futuristic aesthetic. The changes aren’t just aesthetic. The game will feature weapons fitting the period, allowing you to fully immerse yourself into the 1999 setting.
As for the relatively grounded (and weaker) weapons available in the year 1999, the game will also adjust the enemy density and slow down the game’s combat. This is to make sure that the firepower is up for the challenge players face and that no one is left frustrated.
A Romance System
The much-anticipated expansion brings with it a Romance/Dating sim mechanic. This allows players to interact with characters and form strong bonds through the course of the game. Players will be able to romance the Protoframes characters in the game. The Protoframes include Arthur (Excalibur Protoframe), Lettie (Trinity Protoframe), Aoi (Mag Protoframe), Quincy (Cyte-09 Protframe), Amir (Volt Protoframe) and Eleanor (Nyx Protoframe).
A New World To Explore
Warframe 1999’s Earth will be a vast open world for players to explore. The expansion’s new questline will be set on this planet. You will be able to traverse the new location using the new Atomibike vehicle, which will let you cover large distances in no time. Furthermore, the Atomibike vehicle will also be available for use on other planets in the game.
