Locations for all 12 Journalist Stashes are spread across The Zone in Stalker 2. Let’s take a look at how to reach every single one of them.
The Zone is home to not only dangerous mutants but also some rewarding Journalist Stashes, which are located all over the map. These may not become available to you at all if you are not playing the game’s side quests.
To unlock these stashes in the first place, you must first complete the main quest, A Needle in a Haystack, which is a part of the second mission itself. Once you are done with it, a side quest should unlock. Look out for the Seek, and You Shall Find quest. When you open your own stash, you will receive the Journalist’s Flash Drive. Picking it up will play a message and reveal the locations of all Journalist Stashes.
However, this is not where the search ends. You still need to visit these locations to open the stashes for different armaments. They only contain upgraded versions of the items you can already find. However, these pre-done upgrades can really save your resources and time.
Some stashes are located close to Zalissya, making them easier to access at the beginning of the game itself. Others are located far from there. If you don’t wish to venture out in the wild just to get them, you can wait for a quest to take you nearby so you can grab them later.
Reaching the 12 Journalist Stashes
(NOTE: The flash drive already reveals the locations of all these stashes, but they can be confusing to get to. Read on if you can’t get to one.)
1. Lesser Zone
In the Lesser Zone, there is a stash near an abandoned hut. If you spot a truck near this hut, you have come to the right place. Use the truck to climb on the roof of the said hut. This will give you access to the attic where the stash is. Open it and find Mercenary’s Light Suit and the handgun PTM Monolith.
2. Lesser Zone
If you happen to be exploring northeast of Zalissya and come across a factory, know that you are close to another stash. Look around the walls to find a ladder up to the roof. Once up there, take one more ladder down onto the adjacent roof, where you will find the stash. You will find Viper Monolith, which is an SMG.
3. Lesser Zone
You can spot the stash here pretty easily as you are exploring the Sphere Facility. Just follow along the outer wall, and you will find it. Inside will be an assault rifle called AR416 Monolith.
4. Garbage
Don’t worry. You won’t have to look through some dump for this stash. Visit the Garbage region on the map and go to the riverbank in the southern area of this region. You will find an abandoned bus here, which houses the Journalist Crate. Open it to find a shotgun called M860 Monolith.
5. Garbage
Head north of Slag Heap when in Garbage. You will eventually come across a heap of junk and wrecked vehicles. Climb atop, and you shall find the next stash resting, hidden in plain sight. You can open it to find a Tourist Suit inside.
6. Rostok
If you are afraid of Gravity Anomalies and Poltergeists in Stalker 2, you are not going to enjoy this trip at all. Visit the abandoned school for this stash. It is not that difficult to locate the stash inside. When you do, open it to find another SMG here called Riemann. Make sure to run back out for your own safety. Don’t linger here too much.

7. Yaniv
The Yaniv Base will call you for the next Journalist Stash. Head northwest until you reach the base, and you will find an abandoned train east of this region. Skif can open a train car here to access the stash and grab the Model Competitor revolver inside.
8. Swamp
This region contains a wrecked farmhouse that houses our next stash. Jump on the lorry near the fences so you can hop on them and ultimately reach the roof of the barn-like structure. Drop down the opening in the roof, and you will find your prize waiting for you: the Veteran assault rifle.
9. Swamp
The Clear Sky Base, which holds another stash in the region, is part of a main quest. You can access the stash here by visiting the southeast area of the Swamp. After completing the main quest, spot a wrecked building here with an open roof. You can enter from here, but there is also a Gravity Anomaly here. Use your bolt to make it inactive for a few moments and grab the Wanderer Suit inside.
10. Chemical Plant
Once you make your way to the Chemical Plant, you will find a yellow truck that you can climb on. Scale the building’s wall carefully to get to the opposite side and jump down the opening here. Grab the Lullaby assault rifle. It sounds like it can put anyone (or anything) to sleep easily. We haven’t tried it yet though. 11. Burnt Forest
It may not be your favorite thing to do, but this Journalist Stash location will lead you to the middle of a burned settlement. There is even a fire anomaly waiting for you here. Stop it for a few moments with your bolt before using the ladder to reach the cellar and opening the crate below. You will receive the SSP-100M SIRCAA suit as a reward.
12. Duga
This is where things get tricky. The game doesn’t give you much trouble when it comes to other stashes. However, this one in particular is a hassle because it is located in a fortified area. You can’t enter through the main gate because the snipers won’t consider you a friendly face and will shoot you dead. However, you can infiltrate by entering a yard from the southeastern part of the big base.
As your map directs you, reach the armory here. However, there will be a Burer mutant waiting for you. It’s not going to be an easy fight because the mutated enemy can use abandoned (and your) weapons against you. When you finally put an end to this formidable foe, activate the generator on the left side of the building’s interior.
Visit the control room upstairs to interact with the switch there, unlocking the gate to let you grab the loot from the locker.
You will receive an SA-U Gabon assault rifle. Feel free to also take the SEVA-I suit from a nearby locker.
