Find every Alchemy trainer’s exact location and skill training range in Oblivion Remastered with the help of this guide.

Alchemy is one of the most versatile skills in Oblivion Remastered, allowing players to brew healing potions, poisons, and attribute fortifying elixirs. Using a Mortar and Pestle, Alchemy combines ingredients found across the planes to create potions with diverse effects.
As your Alchemy skill increases, you will craft more effective potions and identify more effects when combining ingredients. It is a vital non-combat skill that supports nearly every playstyle. Just like other skills in the game, you can level up Alchemy faster through paid training by specific NPCs scattered across Cyrodiil.

Master Alchemy Training

Sinderion is a master alchemist and a vendor for advanced Alchemy ingredients. To gain access to his training, your Alchemy skill must be at level 70. If you meet the requirement, you will need to complete the Alchemy Training quest to receive master training from him. He requests two rare bottles of wine, Tamika Vintage 399 and Surilie Brothers Vintage 399, as payment to begin teaching you.
If you have joined the Blades by this point in the main quest, you can acquire both bottles from the West Wing of Cloud Ruler Temple without it being considered stealing. Sinderion will also accept stolen bottles if you have raided any from upper-class homes. Once you bring both special wines to him, Sinderion agrees to train you.
How To Improve Alchemy in Oblivion Remastered
Leveling up Alchemy in Oblivion Remastered increases the effectiveness, duration, and value of the potions you craft. You can also improve your potions’ effects by using Alchemy apparatus.
Alchemy Apparatus
The presence of Alchemy apparatus nearby or in your inventory buffs potions with their respective effects. All the apparatus range in quality from Novice to Master, and the magnitude of their effects increases with each tier. These include:
- Mortar and Pestle: Adds to Alchemy skill
- Retort: Increases the magnitude and duration of all the potion’s positive effects.
- Calcinator: Adds to the magnitude and duration of all the potion’s effects.
- Alembic: Decreases the magnitude and duration of all negative effects in the crafted potion.
The bonuses of this equipment stack, and their icon, are visible on the top of the Alchemy page when an apparatus is active during potion-making. If you stand near Alchemy apparatus that does not belong to you, that is, it will be considered stolen if you pick it up, the apparatus’ bonuses will not apply. If you have joined the Blades, then you are free to access or take their Alchemy apparatus at the Cloud Ruler Temple.
