All Building Blocks in Enshrouded That You Should Know

Enshrouded is an expansive, open-world game that merges survival and action RPG elements. Gathering resources and crafting are key to your adventure. As you advance, you’ll rescue survivors who help build your homestead and grow your farms. With every milestone, you’ll explore more perilous regions, gradually pushing back the enigmatic shroud that threatens the world.

Additionally, gathering natural resources and crafting materials to build shelters for survivors is crucial to your advancement in the game. In the following guide, we’ll cover everything you should know about all building blocks in Enshrouded, what materials they are made out of, and how to use them.

What are Building Blocks in Enshrouded?

Building Blocks are how you create shelter for yourself, the craftspeople, and livestock in Enshrouded. Moreover, all of them can be crafted at the Workbench using natural materials and resources you have found in the world. Some more ‘advanced’ blocks will require additional steps, where you must first craft another materials before you can create the block.

Once you have crafted a sufficient number of building blocks at the Workbench, you can use them to create foundations, wall, and roofs for shelters, buildings and homes. Consequently, you will need a lot of materials to build more than the most basic structures, and thankfully it typically doesn’t take much crafting materials to produce large amounts of building blocks.

All Building Blocks in Enshrouded and How to Get Them

There are 44 types of regular build blocks, 8 types of roof blocks, and 4 types of road blocks available in Enshrouded as of Patch #4. To get them you will need to gather the required materials and craft them at your Workbench. You do not need the Blacksmith or the Carpenter to make building blocks.

These are the three different types of blocks in Enshrouded:

  • Building Blocks – Used for building walls and structures.
  • Roof Blocks – Used to cover and protect buildings from the weather.
  • Road Blocks – Use to craft walkways and streets.

If you’re just starting out in the game, you should easily be able to use your pickaxe to hammer away at some rocks to break them down into Stone materials. You only need 2 Stone to craft your first set of 100 blocks. Therefore, you’ll easily be able to craft some basic shelter for the early survivors. As you advance in the game, new materials and nicer looking building blocks will become available.

How to Use Building Blocks in Enshrouded?

To use any type of building blocks in Enshrouded you must first craft a Construction Hammer, then craft the building blocks you want to use, put those items in your activity bar slots, and then open up the Building Mode.

You can craft the Construction Hammer very early on in the game. First, all you have to do is reach the first Return Beacon outside of the Cinder Vault where you start the game. Press the default ‘V’ to open up Manual Crafting and you can make the Construction Hammer with just one Stone piece.

Next, in the same Manual Crafting screen you can make the Workbench using 3 String and 8 Wood Logs. Then, you can use the Workbench to craft any of the building blocks you have the required materials for. Furthermore, you also need to do is place a Flame Alter whenever you plan to build. Doing this establishes a base area, where any changes you make to terrain will stay locked. Additionally, you can expand the base area limits by upgrading your flame alter.

Finally, to place your building blocks in Enshrouded you need to hold to Construction Hammer in your hand and open up Building Mode by pressing the ‘Tab’ key. This opens up the building system, where you can select the piece types you want to work with using the ‘Alt’ key. Next, choose the line you want, and then you can scroll through using the mouse to the exact piece you want. Left click on the mouse will place the items, and the ‘R’ key will rotate the item.
