The most intriguing aspect of Marvel Rivals which has amassed players and retained them is its incredible roster filled with characters from the entire Marvel Universe. This is not just restricted to the prominent heroes, but villains and even anti-heroes have found their way. Starting with Avengers, to the X-Men, and even shooting to the lesser-popular comic books – Marvel Rivals has a diverse character pool.
As with most hero-shooter games, all Marvel Rivals characters are divided into three classes – Vanguards, Duelists, and Strategists. Based on their role, each character has a different main playstyle. To top that, Marvel Rivals goes a step further to ensure all characters adhere to their comic-accurate lore. This gives each character within the same role a unique playstyle, which reflects their nature and personality as we see in the Marvel Comis!

Which Character Should You Choose in Marvel Rivals?
The character that you should choose to play in Marvel Rivals depends entirely on your playstyle and preference. There is no right answer to this, however, we can provide an insight into what each role does in the game:
Vanguards (Tanks)
Vanguards are bulkier and usually stay at the frontlines of a combat situation. They can shield their allies easily with their size, tank-like health, and abilities. They also deal massive damage compared to other classes. If you are starting anew in a hero shooter, we suggest you take up this class, to allow yourself to take more risks.

Duelists (DPS)
Duelists are mostly offensive characters. They are your primary damage dealers and usually have some flashy move that allows them to do so. Duelists come in various types, like poke damage dealers dive heroes, or control-based players. In most cases, the abilities and playstyle of these characters reflect their personality from the comics or the movies.

Strategists (Support)
Those who prefer a more altruistic gameplay style should opt for Strategists. Players who have this class can heal allies and buff them in the middle of the combat. They don’t have as much health as a Vanguard but can heal themselves, which gives them an edge over the Duelists when it comes to survival on the battlefield.
