The newly launched game comes packed with eight gorgeous maps, fully rich in lore and rife with opportunities for strategic and tactical gameplay. The maps are more diverse, layered, and memorable due to the game modes available at launch. The game has four distinct PVP game modes available at the time of writing, all of which require their own tactics and playstyles. In this article, we shall go over all the maps and game modes available to play in Marvel Rivals.
All Game Modes in Marvel Rivals
Marvel Rivals features four game modes that you can currently play. Three of these game modes focus on objectives and are available in competitive play. The fourth is a standard deathmatch and is only available for quick matches. The four game modes are as follows:
- Domination: Both teams battle to take control of a mission area. Kill the enemy team or push them out of the mission area to begin capture. Battle it out and contest capture through the course of the game, and the first team to reach a 100 percent capture progress wins.
- Convoy: The attacking team escorts a Convoy to its destination while the other team defends against it. Push with the Convoy to take it forward to its destination. The Convoy stops if killed or pushed away. If the enemy team gets close to the Convoy, it is reversed and sent back. The success of the escort mission within the time limit determines the winner.
- Convergence: The Convergence mode plays exactly like the Convoy mode but is spread across three checkpoints or progress zones. The Convoy makes progress from 33 percent to 66 percent to 100 percent. The winner is determined by the success of the escort mission within the time limit.
- Conquest: The Conquest mode plays like a standard team deathmatch. Kill as many enemies as you can. You earn points by picking up orbs they drop upon death. The first team to hit 50 points wins. This game mode is not available in competitive play.
