With all the playable civilizations in Civilization 7, the game outdid itself in terms of providing variations. Players get to pick their Leaders and the Civilization in each age. There are three ages to play through: the Antiquity Age, the Exploration Age, and the Modern Age.
What’s best about this feature is that everybody can mix and match their leaders and civilizations. While using historically accurate leaders in particular civilizations will give you a natural synergy, you shouldn’t restrict yourself from finding better combinations that could work.
Each civilization, no matter the age, will have certain attributes whether it is diplomatic, scientific, etc. These are not unique but are rather repeated in a different combination in each civilization. So, depending on your playstyle and goal of fulfilling a victory condition, you can choose what to pick.
