Here is a list of all hitscan and projectile heroes in Marvel Rivals so that you can have an easier time while aiming with them.
Marvel Rivals currently has a roster of 33 characters that includes heroes, villains, and even anti-heroes. In hero-shooter games, characters with “throwable” attacks are categorized as either “hitscan” or “projectile.” The classification is based on the character’s shooting mechanics, and they generally feature different playstyles. There is a default aim bias since Marvel Rivals is a third-person FOV game. Owing to this, the line between hitscan and projectile can become blurry at times, often confusing many players.
In this article, we will classify the Marvel Rivals heroes and separate them into hitscans and projectiles. We will also mention the basic differences between these styles so that it is easier for you to understand the class division.
All Hitscan Heroes in Marvel Rivals
Here are all the hitscan heroes in Marvel Rivals:
- The Punisher (Assault Rifle: Adjudication and Shotgun: Deliverance only)
- Hela
- Psylocke
- Black Widow
- Luna Snow
- Adam Warlock (Primary Fire: Quantum Magic only)
- Star-Lord
What is Meant by Hitscan Heroes in Marvel Rivals?
Hitscan heroes do not need to aim ahead (or lead) while shooting in Marvel Rivals. The bullet (or ability) hits exactly where you aim, and there is zero time delay between your shot and the impact of the bullet (or ability). This applies to all roles, including Duelists, Vanguards, and Strategists.
All the heroes mentioned above adhere to this rule. However, some of them have specific abilities that might be classified as projectile. The projectile section discusses this further.

Some hitscan heroes also have projectile abilities:
- Hela (Ultimate: Goddess of Death only)
- The Punisher (Culling Turret only)
What is Meant by Projectile Heroes in Marvel Rivals?
Projectile heroes need to aim ahead or lead their shot in Marvel Rivals. There is a fair bit of delay (or travel time) between your shot (or ability) and its impact on your enemy or a teammate.
Generally, you would need to aim a bit ahead towards the direction of the opponent’s movement in order to land your shot successfully. In most cases, you will be able to see the ability or bullet travel as well, with a very prominent tracer.
Marvel Rivals Heroes That Are Neither Hitscan nor Projectile
Some heroes in Marvel Rivals do not classify as either hitscan or projectile, because their attacks are not throwables. Their gameplay is mostly based on melee mechanics, and thus they need to be classified in a separate section.
The heroes that neither classify as hitscan nor projectile are:
- Hulk
- Wolverine
- Iron Fist
- Scarlet Witch
- Spider-Man
- Venom
- Groot
- Captain America
- Cloak & Dagger*
- Thor
- Black Panther
- Storm
- Magik
*Cloak & Dagger is a very unique entry here. While Cloak’s primary fire is throwable, it has a target-lock system. As such, it cannot be classified under projectile or hitscan.
