All Chapter 1 Secrets in Black Myth: Wukong
Black Myth: Wukong’s Chapter 1 is one of the shortest in the game. That said, it does have a few secrets:
The fight with Elder Jinchi will give you the Fireproof Mantle, a key item that will greatly aid you in the fight against the final boss in Chapter 1. Other than that, this item will also be exceptionally useful in Chapter 5 and parts of Chapter 6. You must find and ring three bells to unlock the Elder Jinchi boss fight.
The Red Loong boss fight is in a hidden area, to unlock which you will need to obtain the Loong Scale item from Chapter 2.
All Chapter 2 Secrets in Black Myth: Wukong
Chapter 2 in Black Myth: Wukong is considerably bigger and has more secrets than the first one:
- Loong Scale item
- Kingdom of Sahali (Drunk Boar Side Quest)
- Man-in-Stone quest (Azure Dust Transformation Spell)
- Black Loong boss fight
- Shigandang boss fight
- Mad Tiger boss fight (Old Rattle-Drum Questline)
The Loong Scale is an item that you will need to fight the three Loongs in specific chapters of Black Myth: Wukong. You can obtain this item in Chapter 2, near the Valley of Despair Keeper’s Shrine.
The Kingdom of Sahali is a special region that will give you another special item, the Wind Tamer. It will be of great help against the final boss of the chapter. Moreover, this quest also has a fair share of boss fights to keep you on your toes. Meanwhile, the Man-in-Stone quest will have you travel to and fro while fighting small mobs and an easy boss.
On the other hand, Black Loong is the second hidden Loong boss and is much more challenging. You must have the Loong Scale to complete this fight. Shigandang is also a hidden boss, and you will need to collect six Buddha’s Eyeballs to trigger this fight.
For the Mad Tiger boss fight, you must beat the Tiger’s Acolyte and obtain the Old Rattle-Drum first. Next, you must use this drum in three specific locations to unlock the confrontation.
All Chapter 3 Secrets in Black Myth: Wukong
Chapter 3, one of the biggest chapters in Black Myth: Wukong, has a plethora of secrets waiting for you:
- Purple Seals
- Ashen Slumber Spell
- Chu-Bai Spear
- Cyan Loong boss fight
- Chen Loong Quest Line (Ruyi Scroll and Zodiac Village)
- Yin Tiger boss fight
- Turtle-Tear Soak
- Spell Binder (Treasure Hunter quest line, Green Capped-Martialist boss fight, and the hidden Melon Field)
- Snow Fox Quest
- Old Ginseng Guai boss fight
- Hoarfrost Spell (Monk from the Sea boss fight)
- Great Pagoda
The Purple Seals will unlock many lockups in the Pagoda Realm, and you must defeat Captain Lotus-Vision to break them. Only after defeating this boss can you access the NPC who will allow you to get the Ashen Slumber and Chu-Bai Spear.
The Ashen Slumber Spell and Chu-Bai Spear are interrelated, and they are triggered by the same NPC in the Lower Pagoda. This quest line has you travel to Chapter 2 and beat some mobs, if you did not already clear them during your exploration.
Cyan Loong is the third Loong boss. This challenging confrontation triggers the quest line to obtain the Ruyi Scroll. The Yin Tiger is an optional boss whom you can find inside the Ruyi Scroll. Unlike some other bosses, he has to be manually challenged. If you defeat him, you will get you an additional curio slot.
The Turtle-Tear Soak is an easily missed item since not many people care to pick it up. It is dropped by the Turtle General after you defeat the Apramana Bat and find out the truth about the Snake General.
Obtaining the Spell Binder requires you to start the Treasure Hunter quest line. It is spread across various sections of Chapter 3. You will eventually find yourself in the hidden Melon Field area after you defeat the Green-Capped Martialist. You will receive the Spell Binder after besting this boss in combat.
The Snow Fox quest is a simple and linear mission. However, it triggers a special animation with the Non-Void, and you get to know a considerable bit of lore about this boss. You will also be able to transform into a Snow Fox, which can be helpful to bypass the hordes of enemies.
The Old Ginseng Guai and Monk from the Sea are additional secret open-world bosses that you will encounter in Black Myth: Wukong. Defeating the latter will give you access to the Hoarfrost Spell.
Finally, the Great Pagoda is a secret area that you must visit to reach Mount Mei in Black Myth: Wukong. You can only unlock and get the secret fight with Erlang after completing the prerequisites in every other chapter of Black Myth: Wukong.

- Purple Talisman Quest (and Secret Celestial Pill)
- Yellow Loong (Golden Lining Transformation Spell)
- Venom Daoist
- Purple Cloud Mountain
- Daoist Mi
- Scorpionlord
You must complete the Purple Talisman quest before you defeat the Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master, the final boss in the chapter. Opening the seal on the final altar will trigger a fight with the Supreme Inspector, though it will be interrupted. Following this, you will also be able to get the last Celestial Pill.
Notably, Yellow Loong is the last of the Loong quest line, and you must have beaten the three other Loongs to trigger this boss. Defeating him will also give you the Golden Lining Transformation Spell.
Venom Daoist is the trigger point for the secret Purple Cloud Mountain area in Black Myth: Wukong. You will have to defeat him twice in separate locations. And, if you manage to hit the Venom Daoist on his back and break four of his arms in the first fight, you will also get a secret handguard.
After defeating Venom Daoist for the second time, you will gain access to the secret Purple Cloud Mountain in Black Myth: Wukong. This area also has a secret optional fight with Daoist Mi.
On the other hand, Scorpionlord, though a boss, can be skipped. If you choose not to fight Scorpionlord, he will aid you in your battle against the Duskveil. This region will also drop the Weaver’s Needle, a powerful item that will help in the final battle of this chapter.
All Chapter 5 Secrets in Black Myth: Wukong
Chapter 5 in Black Myth: Wukong has fewer secrets comparatively. These are:
- Dark Thunder Transformation Spell (Horse Guai quest line end)
- Bishui Cave (Pale-Axe Stalwart quest line)
- Flint Bosses
You can acquire the Dark Thunder Transformation Spell by completing the Horse Guai quest. However, you must meet him in every chapter before this to trigger the final section. In the final part, you must defeat the Keeper of Flaming Mountains and interact with an Element Cart before defeating the final boss in Chapter 5.
The Bishui Cave is a secret region that is triggered as the last part of the Pale-Axe Stalwart quest line. You do not get any secret items from this secret area in Black Myth: Wukong, but it provides some crucial lore about the Celestial Palace and its cruel punishment. However, completing the Bishui Cave is a prerequisite to unlocking Mount Mei and getting the true ending of the game.
The Flint bosses are a group of three bosses – Flint Chief, Flint Vanguard, and Mother of Flamlings. They can easily be skipped since you will need to trigger them manually. However, they reward you with the Samadhi Fire Crystals, a crucial crafting item in the game.

All the boss fights mentioned in the list are optional content in the last chapter, and you will have to find them manually. You must collect all the four Skandhas in the previous chapter to trigger the Giant Shigandang boss fight. You will get the fifth Skandha upon defeating it, which you can then use to craft the Five Skandhas Pill — a special item that greatly buffs all your main stats like health, stamina, and mana.
Lastly, the Hidden Sun Wukong armor set can be found in a treasure chest just a few paces behind the Verdant Path Keeper’s Shrine. Call on the Somersault Cloud and go back till you spot the chest resting at the base of a tree. You will find all the components of the armor set in a singular treasure chest.
