  • Alteration: Unpredictable and elusive alterations that blend strength and flexibility. Contains Cloud Step and Rock Solid, your defensive skill tree.
  • Strand: Strands that bond assault and survival, granting hope in desperation.  It contains A Pluck of Many spells, which summons duplicates to fight for you.you.
  • Transformation: Various profound transformations that bestow winning strategies through restraint and amplification. It contains a series of transformation options, which will not be ranked in this guide since they use the Might resource, not mana.

All Spells Ranked in Black Myth Wukong

Immobilize is the best spell in Black Myth Wukong because you can stun nearly any enemy, giving you a free damage window without retaliation. Moreover, you can spend sparks to extend the duration with light attacks and increase damage against the controlled target. The second best spell is Cloud Step, which can be used to evade attacks or charge in for a devastating blow. Lastly, Ring of Fire is the best defensive spell and one that is helpful if using the Thrust Stance for extra range, and wanting something that boost regeneration.

Below is a list of all the spells ranked in Balck Myth: Wukong from best to worst:

  1. Immoblizie: stuns an enemy in place and they can take extra damage.
  2. Cloud Step: mobility tool for avoiding attacks or rushing in.
  3. Ring of Fire: defensive spell making you invulnerable to certain attacks.
  4. Rock Solid: defensive spell that can reflect damage but requires you to be stationary.
  5. A Pluck of Many: summons copies of you as a distraction to the enemy.

5 A Pluck of Many

A Pluck of Many Spell - Black Myth Wukong
  • Description: A duplication spell: pluck a strand, chew it, and spit it into the air to create multiple Duplicates. These agile Duplicates can fight or flee and will engage the enemy if the caster is attacked. This spell can be used to catch a breath or escape. However, the Duplicates are fragile and can be quickly destroyed if directly confronted by the enemy.
  • Spell Tree: Strand
  • Strengths: creates a distraction that can help escape or harass the enemy.
  • Weaknesses: Long animation is not useful in boss fights.
  • Best Situations: used if you have a brief time to summon before combat.

The spell A Pluck of Many is overall weak due to its long animation and weakness in boss fights. Thus, we rank it the worst spell in Black Myth: Wukong and fifth on our list. A Pluck of Many summons duplicates of your main character who attacks the enemy. However, the spell has a very long animation that causes you to stand still, with a considerable cooldown and mana cost. Therefore, it’s only relevant in specific situations where you won’t be able to use another spell and have excessive mana.

The main benefit of the spell is that you can escape or heal while the duplicates do damage. But, that often requires you to dodge conductively, draining your stamina while remaining stationary to cast the long animation spell. Moreover, you can just immobilize the enemy and attack or heal, making the spell weaker than others on this list. The talent volition allows duplicates to spell cast and further increases their effectiveness. But, this requires a massive talent/spark investment, whereas others are stronger from the start. Therefore, we rank A Pluck of Many as the worst spell in Black Myth Wukong.

4 Rock Solid

Rock Solid Spell - Black Myth Wukong
  • Description: A defensive spell that transforms the caster into a rock. If the enemy strikes the rock upon the transformation, they shall be Deflected, which grants a perfect chance to counterattack. Though the spell may seem simple, timing is crucial. Cast it too early or too late and it won’t work. Beware, enemies who possess powerful moves may shatter the rock.
  • Spell Tree: Alteration
  • Strengths: low cooldown, so you can use it frequently.
  • Weaknesses: must be good with time and lacks mobility.
  • Best Situations: when you suspect an incoming attack is near.

The fourth-best spell on the list is Rock Solid, ranking just behind Ring of Fire because it lacks the regeneration that Ring of Fire possesses. Rock Solid’s strength is its ability to counter incoming damage by standing stationary like a rock. Moreover, you can further enhance the spell to increase the timing window and reduce mana cost. With a low mana cost and low cooldown, you can frequently use this defensive ability.

The downside of Rock Solid is it has limited offensive potential and requires you to stand stationary. In Black Myth: Wukong, mobility is everything, especially dodging to avoid attacks. If you can just dodge an attack, then Rock Solid and its timing just isn’t the best option, especially for advanced players who master perfect dodges and have talents optimizing their builds for counterattack gameplay.

We’d rank Rock Solid higher on our list if it had some mobility mechanic or offensive buff built in. Without that, it’s ranked fourth All list the Spells in Black Myth: Wukong Ranked From Worst to Best.

3 Ring of Fire

Ring of Fire Spell - Black Myth Wukong
  • Description: A lifesaving spell that, with a simple ring drawn by the staff on the ground, grants protection from the cold and prepares for impending confrontation. Standing within the ring accelerates recovery, and the effects of drinks are enhanced. The duration of the fire ring allows stepping out to engage in battle and returning with its effects still active. Once the time is up the ring will vanish.
  • Spell Tree: Mysticism
  • Strengths: defensive spell that boost drink recovery
  • Weaknesses: requires you to stay in area
  • Best Situations: defending against elemental enemies or using drinks

The Ring of Fire spell ranks third on our list as one of the best defensive spells in Black Myth: Wukong. The strength of the spell makes you invulnerable to regular and elemental attacks. Additionally, staying inside the circle increases your recovery and you boost drink effectiveness. You’ll want to use Ring of Fire when needing protection with regular-type enemies. Additionally, you can swap stance to Thrust for increased range and heavy attack to still reach enemies.

The obvious downside is that the spell lacks mobility, a key game component. Moreover, not every boss will allow you to sit in your ring chugging down powerful potions. So, expect to use this spell situationally, but it does not apply to every situation. However, if you spend many spark points, you can increase your total recovery and regenerate health, giving you a strong spell to pair with Thrust Stance gameplay.

2 Cloud Step

Cloud Step Spell - Black Myth Wukong
  • Description: A mobility spell that leaves behind a decoy while allowing for quick dispersion into mist and escape. Useful for evading attacks or luring enemies into a trap. Upon returning from the mist state, an Unveiling Strike can be unleashed to catch opponents off guard.
  • Spell Tree: Alteration
  • Strengths: mobility tool for avoiding attacks and creating a decoy
  • Weaknesses: Any drawbacks, such as resource cost or difficulty in use.
  • Best Situations: When the spell is most effective (early game, boss fights, PvP, etc.).

The second-best spell in Black Myth: Wukong is Cloud Step due to its mobility and offensive buff after use. The strength of Cloud Step is that you can evade attacks and leave a decoy behind. Therefore, you can chain avoidance by using stamina to dodge, and Cloud Step when low on resources. With a 35-second cooldown and 30 mana cost, this spell can fit well into your defensive gameplay rotation.

Unlike other spells on this list, Cloud Step can be used offensively as a gap closer with a talent like Concealed Observation. You gain increased critical hit chance per second while in Cloud Step, allowing you to charge in and do damage. Then, you extend the duration with Converging Clouds to give you a versatile spell for offensive and defensive potential.

We would rank Cloud Step higher on our list if it weren’t for Immobilize’s crowd control ability that can even stun and lockdown powerful enemies!

1 Immoblizie

Immobilize Spell - Black Myth Wukong
  • Description: A control spell that, with just a gesture of the finger, can bind the enemy in place. More powerful foes may break free sooner, thus caution is advised. To ensure this spell will not be interrupted during intense combat, cast it when the opponent is exhausted, staggered, or downed.
  • Spell Tree: Mysticism
  • Strengths: crowd control nearly any enemy and beat them with free damage.
  • Weaknesses: long cooldown and high mana cost.
  • Best Situations: use the spell when enemies are exhausted, staggered, or downed to ensure it’s not broken.

The best spell in Black Myth Wukong is Immobilize because it works to control and stun almost any enemy in the game. With Immobilize, you stun and hold an enemy still while you can attack them without worrying about retaliation. While powerful enemies can break free from the effect early, you’ll want to use this on enemies that are exhausted, staggered, or downed. Early in the game, however, you can spam this when needing a breather, and it seems overpowered.

The major downside of Immobilize is its high mana cost of 80 and 50-second cooldown, not allowing for quick succession or usage. Ideally, players will use Cloud Step to avoid attacks, while saving Immobilize for combos with high focus attack when the enemy is staggered.

Another advantage of the Immobilize spell is that talents increase overall damage and can extend the duration by hitting them. Therefore, you can chain huge combos together and unload them. Just make sure to conserve mana and be aware of your cooldowns, and you’ll love to melt enemies with Immobilize.
