Fields of Mistria might be a farm-life simulator on the surface, but it is much more than that. The game has three core pillars: simulation, combat, and magic. The developers at NPC Studio mixed these components together quite well to bring something new and fresh to the players.
Today, we will be talking about one of these pillars, more specifically, magic. It is a crucial part of day-to-day life and adds a certain fantasy element to the title. Whenever someone hears the word magic, they think of spells. And in this article, we will tell you how you can unlock all spells in Fields of Mistria.
How the Spells in Fields of Mistria Work
Before we get into how you can unlock the spells in Fields of Mistria, we must discuss how they work. Spells make the overall gameplay all the more interesting. It first gets unlocked when players reach level 10 in the Mines. However, to start exploring the mines, you will have to help your town reach Rank 10 first.
After you have reached the 10th Floor of the mines, Caldarus will tell you to go even deeper down. The next time you meet him, he will tell you all about spells and how to use them. The first tutorial will be about the Restore Spell; it is a spell that restores the player’s HP and stamina.
Other than that, continuing through the story of the game, exploring the mines further, and breaking the various element seals are the only ways of unlocking more spells.
You Will Need Mana To Use the Spells
Additionally, you will need Mana to use all of the spells in Fields of Mistria. It is a similar system to many other games, where Mana is the essential resource for magic. And if you run out of it, then you can refill the Mana bar by consuming some Mana potions. But if you do not want to do that, then you can wait a few days, and your Mana bar will be replenished automatically.
Naturally, you will have all of your spells in your journal. However, there is an option to pin any one spell in your HUD, but for the rest, the spells tab in the journal will be the only way to use them.
How To Unlock All Spells in Fields of Mistria
Now, let’s talk about the spells themselves. v0.13.0 is the most recent update in Fields of Mistria. And as of March 15, 2025, the game only has four spells in total. Each of these spells represents the different elements in the game, such as Farming, Combat, etc.
Before we go into further details, we must tell you that Fields of Mistria is still in early access, and the developers will certainly add more spells in the future. With that said, let’s look at all four spells in Fields of Mistria and how you can unlock them:

| Growth | Boosts your trees by 1 stage and makes all of your crops in a 3×3 section fully grow. | You must reach the 40th Floor in the Mines for Caldarus to give it to you. |
| Dragon’s Breath | Shoot a stream of fire that will damage your enemies and destroy the objects in front of it. | Caldarus will grant it to you after you unlock the Fire Seal on the 60th Floor in the mines. |
