Call of Duty gave us the first look at Warzone’s Area 99 map, coming to all supported platforms on November 14th. This is part of the new Black Ops 6 Season 1 that is coming to Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone alike. For now, let’s keep our focus on the free-to-play Warzone.

Season 1 is bringing a brand new map to the Warzone which won’t be available in Multiplayer. There are more changes to the game than just introducing a new map. Since Black Ops 6 brings quite a different experience to the table than the Modern Warfare reboots, the developers have made several key changes.

So, buckle up folks! We are in for a thrilling ride. Read along to learn about all the official information that Activision has provided so far on the upcoming update.

Area 99 Map Drop Date and What Else To Expect

As mentioned earlier, Season 1 will be released on the 14th of November. This new map will also be available after you update your game. Experience the popular Nevada air base in classic Call of Duty chaos with an altered name. This map will only be available for Resurgence.

Expect Warzone to have the complete Black Ops 6 user interface; weapons, gadgets, movements, and vehicles would also come eventually. All of this starts with Area 99. Omnimovement will be introduced to the new Resurgence map right away. The map will be a fresh start in the new season because it is brand new and everyone will experience it together for the first time.

Other Maps in Season 1

The mentioned map is a highlight for the first Black Ops 6 season in Warzone. However, players shouldn’t overlook what developers are giving them. Battle Royale mode will be available to play in Urzikstan. It is one of the two returning maps from the ongoing season.

This big-scale map will be available at launch. Hallmarks of Black Ops 6, the Omnimovement, and the user interface, will be an integrated experience here as well. Expect to see the Urzikstan that you saw in the earlier seasons of Modern Warfare III.

Another returning map would be Rebirth Island for Resurgence mode. You can expect the same integrated changes in this map as well. However, fans will have to wait because it has an unknown ‘launch window’.

According to Activision, Plunder and BR Ranked Play are also returning. While the former mode is only scheduled in Urzikstan with a launch window, the latter will be on the same map to play mid-season.

Loadout Overview in the New Warzone Season

The Loadout menu will look much different from our current Modern Warfare GUI. Instead, it will be minimalistic and look similar to the one found in Black Ops 6 Multiplayer. Players can craft up to 10 Custom Loadouts. Each of these Loadouts will comprise of the following things:

  • Primary weapon
  • Secondary weapon
  • Melee Weapon
  • Tactical Equipment
  • Lethal Equipment
  • Three Perks
  • Wildcard

Combat Speciality, seen in the Multiplayer mode, is missing from Warzone and might not be added. Tactical and Lethal Equipment seen in the latest Black Ops game will come to Warzone. Kill Streak and Field Upgrades will also be making their way from the game. These are unlocked based on your Prestige level. So, don’t miss out on that Multiplayer mode to level up faster.

For now, these are all the updates that Activision has provided. We’ll get back to you as soon as there is anything new on the horizon.
