4 Anime Worlds that Every Fan Wants to Visit
The medium of anime is not only popular for its storytelling but also aesthetically pleasing visuals. There are some anime titles wherein the world is extremely pleasant, often making fans wish it were true. There are various elements that appeal to fans. It could be the element of magic, the warm and friendly people, a sense of adventure, or the sheer beauty of the world. There are plenty of titles that are rich in such elements that make for a pleasant viewing experience. Here are 4 anime worlds that every fan wants to visit:
1) Pokémon
Pokémon is one of the most popular anime titles, and it serves as a gateway for fans who wish to explore the medium of anime. In this world, there are a plethora of monsters that one can capture, befriend, train, and seek help from during battles. Many of these so-called monsters are incredibly friendly and have a wide range of abilities. If you’ve watched this show as a child, you wanted to become a Pokémon trainer just like Ash Ketchum.
Children who grew up watching this wished to be a part of this world. The sense of adventure paired with the camaraderie shown in the series was quite alluring. Even the most logical adults wish they had Charizard by their side, and that is the beauty of this show. You vicariously lived through Ash, hoping that one day, you’d have the excitement of catching your first Pokémon.
2) Konosuba
If you don’t mind abject misfortune and hell as a consequence of the hilarity you’d experience, then Konosuba is for you. The world allows you to develop techniques by spending your XP on certain traits. You’re quite literally a video game character, except you might end up having a crew filled with masochists, pyromaniacs, and a Goddess who is as useful as a 24 oz water bottle in a forest fire.
You get to find a crew of your own, embark on adventures, become bounty hunters, and enjoy a good bubbly beverage after a hard day’s work. Additionally, you can develop your magic skills and upgrade your armor. There are perilous entities in this world as well. However, Kazuma and his adventurers make it seem like one would have a journey that they will cherish for the rest of their lives.
3) Your Name
The world of Your Name is quite similar to real-life Japan. However, there is one thing that sets it apart from the real world – the element of magic and time travel. In the anime, the main character was able to travel back in time. Furthermore, it combined certain fairytale elements that resonated with fans. Switching bodies with your crush seems weird. However, the idea of being able to travel back in time appeals to many. Furthermore, fans wish to experience love the way Taki and Mitsuha did in the anime. Standing on a field of grass with a gentle breeze and watching that meteor travel close to the planet would be surreal. These are some of the reasons why fans would want to visit the world of Your Name.
4) Fairy Tail
Fairy Tail is also similar to a fantasy world. However, you will get preferential treatment if you’re the protagonist or share a close relationship with one. No matter how dangerous things might be, you simply won’t die. This is how the Fairy Tail world is. Here, magic is crucial to survive and determines how long you’ll last in the series. However, being an adventurer and joining a guild is not the only solution.
One can also be a business owner and stay far away from the battlefields. If you are this person, then just befriend a few mages from the Fairy Tail guild as a precautionary step. The serene fields, the welcoming people, and the magic are some of the reasons why fans would love to visit this world.
4 Anime Worlds That Nobody Wants to Visit
Naturally, there are some anime worlds that would absolutely terrify you. There are plenty of elements like the environment, the characters, the political landscape, and so on. There are worlds where war and suffering are constant, while other anime worlds feature otherworldly beings that can petrify some of the strongest people. Here are some anime worlds that people would actively avoid.
1) Berserk
Guts is an inspiration to many, and there are many lessons we can take away from Berserk. But, if you are someone who wishes to live in this world, then we urge you to evaluate you life decisions. This is a world where pain and suffering are endless. Guts underwent some of the most traumatizing things that anyone can experience. He lost his mother, witnessed his partner get assaulted, and suffered from hours of physical torture.
Wars are frequent and never-ending, and it’s nearly impossible to find a person who had a normal upbringing. Everyone’s got emotional scars which in some cases don’t heal till they take their final breath. Greed permeates the air and violence is the law of the land. This is a world that not many people would wish to visit. That being said, those who enjoy darker themes will have a good time reading the manga.
2) Attack on Titan
Attack on Titan is widely regarded as a modern masterpiece that is beloved by millions across the world. But that is not reason enough to be born into a world where you are the Titan equivalent of a tasty-looking chicken strip. Each passing day, you pray, hoping that a giant being doesn’t destroy tall walls and gobble you up before you can even let out a scream. The world is extremely harsh, and these conditions mold people a certain way.
The likes of Eren, Mikasa, Levi, and Erwin didn’t show exceptional mental fortitude overnight. It takes years of hard work, survival, and the willingness to change the world, just to exist in this world. Everyone at some point in their lives had seen the sun on the horizon. Now swap out the sun for a Colossal Titan and the Horizon for the nearest towering wall. That is a sight no human being in the right mental space would seek.
3) Promised Neverland
Nobody would want to visit the world of Promised Neverland, because this is filled to the brim with nightmares. In this world, demons lurk in every corner, capable of killing any human. However, a “promise” was made, wherein humans would sacrifice a small number of people for the rest of them to live in peace. There are literal human breeding farms. You will quite literally be given birth and taken care of, only to be devoured by a demon after a certain age. Aside from your impending doom, which is death, there are other atrocities committed within these farms.
People are often treated poorly and their lives are worth less than certain objects. This is an absolute nightmare for people, and no one in the right headspace would wish to visit, let alone live in a world like this.
4) Uzumaki
Uzumaki is a popular manga series, written and illustrated by Junji Ito. He is an award-winning manga author who specializes in the horror genre. Anything that Mr. Ito illustrates in the manga exudes creepiness. In this world, there is a strange obsession with spirals and spiral-related curses. People’s faces contort and spiral-like engravings are seen. Mutation of insects is normal in this world, and one can see people rise from the dead.
There are instances where pregnant women also act like mosquitoes. These are just some of the many examples present in the series. If you prefer interacting with people who are alive, and don’t wish to see eccentric behavior or insect mutations, this is not the world for you. People do not wish to visit or live in the world shown in the Uzumaki manga.
Special Mention: Cyberpunk: Edgerunners
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners deserves a special mention. One is attracted to the world shown in the anime but also fears it simultaneously. In this anime, technology has advanced drastically, and you can fit cybernetics into your body. Imagine being able to enhance your combat abilities just by adding a chip that is embedded in your nervous system. The neon visuals are aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Furthermore, you can also live as an outlaw if you wish to spice things up.
At the same time, unemployment is common, violent crimes take place frequently, and it’s quite expensive to survive. Even if you’re well off financially, there is an element of danger at all times. At the end of the day, it is a dystopian setting. This is why Cyberpunk: Edgerunners has a world that some would love to visit and others would run in the other direction.
