Learn about how each class functions in Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 and which ones perform the best on the battlefield.
Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 features multiple classes, which means gamers can experiment with different playstyles. Certain missions become easier when using a particular class.
Saber Interactive has worked to distinguish each class from the rest. Some classes are clearly better at battling hordes of Tyranids. Meanwhile, others are more useful as support classes, helping out their fellow Ultramarines in their war against the Xenos.
In this article, we have ranked every class featured in Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2, so you can make an educated choice when choosing your class to fight for the Emperor.
Note: The ranking is subjective.
All Classes in Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2, Ranked According to Their Efficiency
6) Vanguard
The Vanguard class occupies the last position on this ranking due to its fragility. Its two armor cells and limited weapon options make it a less effective class. There are only three primary weapons that the Vanguard class can choose from. These include:
- Instigator Bolt Carbine
- Occulus Bolt Carbine
- Melta Rifle
While the Vanguard class boasts an impressive Grapnel Launcher ability, that does not compensate for its weak points in Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2.
5) Bulwark
Bulwark serves as the healer class in Space Marine 2, making it ideal for players looking to play a support role during battle. However, the inability to equip any primary weapons holds the Bulwark class back. Players do get a powerful shield that they can use to bash and damage enemies, alongside the ability to equip secondary weapons, but the class is just not very aggressive.
Moreover, it might take players some time to unlock everything they need to make an effective build using this class.
4) Assault
The Assault class is perfect for players who are not afraid to charge headfirst into battle. It comes with the Jump Pack ability, allowing players to gain altitude before crashing down on the enemies to deal a ton of damage. Much like the Bulwark class, the Assault class cannot equip any primary weapons.
Players using the Assault class will have to focus on their secondary and melee weapons. The aggressive nature of this class, coupled with its three armor bars, make it perfect for those who want to dominate the battlefield.
3) Sniper
The Sniper class can be passive but effective in Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2. Players using this class should keep their distance from enemy hordes and find opportunities to deal damage from afar. With the Sniper class, players can choose from a variety of primary weapons:
- Bolt Sniper Rifle
- Stalker Bolt Rifle
- Las Fusil
- Bolt Carbine
Additionally, the Sniper class comes with the Camo Cloak class perk. This allows players to break the enemy line of sight and reposition themselves to sneak away during battle.
2) Heavy
The Heavy class is one of the strongest classes in Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2. It allows players to tank a lot of long-range damage and keep fighting without having to worry about going down. Heavy class users can also equip all three Heavy weapons, namely:
- Heavy Plasma Incinerator
- Multi-Melta
- Heavy Bolter
The Heavy class is held back by its inability to equip and use a melee weapon, but players are free to dish out a ton of damage at medium to long range.
1) Tactical
Closing out our ranking is the Tactical class, the most versatile class in Space Marine 2. With the Tactical class, players can equip great primary weapons such as the Plasma Incinerator and the Auto Bolt Rifle. Additionally, the Auspex Scan perk allows players to detect enemies within a certain range and makes them more vulnerable to damage.
Players using the Tactical class also get access to the Bolt Pistol Secondary weapon and the classic Chainsword. These armaments make it much easier for players to adapt to any situation at hand, allowing them to deal with both medium-range and close-range encounters with ease. All of these factors, mixed with the 3 armor bars, make the Tactical class a top choice for any Ultramarine looking to cause some damage on the battlefield.
