Indiana Jones and the Great Circle breaks its quests down into several categories like Mysteries, Discoveries, and Fieldwork. “The Kid Who Vanished” is a fieldwork quest that you receive after talking to Gina, once you’ve attempted to buy the rebreather. She mentions that one of the villagers is missing. This begins the fieldwork quest.

This side quest requires a bit of back and forth and has more than just a couple of puzzles. We have a handy guide for you right here so that you can check this side quest off your list.

The Main Steps To Finish the Kid Who Vanished

  1. Find the Tree House
  2. Go to Wat Si Sawai
  3. Inside the Temple
  4. A Pipeline Puzzle
  5. Make your way to Aran
  6. The Pipe Puzzle

1. Find the Tree House

Pull up your journal and check the quest under Fieldwork and you’ll find that the first task is to find the tree house. The details reveal that you might be able to find some clues there. Follow your marker to the southern end of the map.

Once at the tree house, you’ll need to climb a ladder and try to open a door with Gina. After you manage to break in, check the wall on the right for a photograph. Make your way ahead until you spot a marker on the floor. You’ll find a loose floorboard. Complete the prompt to get your hands on a hidden map.

Once you’re back on the boat, pull up the journal, and your task is revealed. The next destination is Wat Si Sawai. On the map, you’ll see a golden circle marker on the southwestern end. You are Indiana Jones, so it’s time to hit up some old ruins.

2. Go to Wat Si Sawai

Use the boat to head toward the marker. Once you have docked, you’ll find a stone path. Follow the path leading through the forest, and you’ll soon reach Wat Si Sawai.

This next bit involves going through enemies. Stealth is an ideal option and fits Indiana’s style better. Dispose of the enemies stealthily if you need to, but make your way to the entrance of the temple.

3. Inside the Temple

Head down the ladder to enter the Khmer Warrior Temple. Proceed ahead, and you’ll unlock the map of the region. Keep heading straight, and you’ll find yourself at a clearing with a spotlight. This is where you’ll first hear Aran, the villager we are looking for. To the left of the rubble, you can spot a door. Gina points to it and attempts to open the door.

Complete the prompt here with Gina, pulling the levers at the same time to open the path ahead.

4. A Pipeline Puzzle

Inside the door, you’ll come across a room with a pipeline to the left. You can notice that it has a segment missing. You’ll find the missing piece on the other side of the floor. Pick it up and slot it in the pipeline to complete it. This is the main interaction that you’ll need to perform ahead. If you are an Indiana Jones fan, you know there are going to be more than a few puzzles in the game.

Take the wooden elevator down and make your way to a door locked by a similar rotating lever. Unlock the door and proceed ahead to meet a pipeline puzzle. This puzzle requires you to reuse a piece in two locations. Take the piece on the ground and place it in the slot opposite a locked door. Completing the water flow unlocks the door. Inside, you’ll find a second L-shaped piece. Bring the piece outside and toss it aside for a moment.

Pull up the straight piece that you used to open the door and slot it in ahead of it, connecting a bend. Now use the L-piece that you tossed aside at this old location to complete the water pipeline.

This will allow you and Gina to push the gear ahead. You’ll hear Aran talk about meeting up ahead, and a new door opens up.

5. Make Your Way to Aran

You’ll have to engage in some tight platforming to make your way to the next puzzle. This section involves rotating gears as obstacles and platforms. Stay calm and time yourself well. You’ll soon reach another door locked by two levers. Together with Gina, use the levers to open the door.

Once inside, you’ll find a pathway with sections of floor missing. Pull the lever beside you to activate the platform and move ahead.

6. The Pipe Puzzle

This is the last of the pipeline puzzles. Take the ladder on the left to find a turn lever like the ones that open doors. Turn it to activate the flow of water. Now head back down and take the stairs directly in front of the ladder.

This will take you to the ledge above. You’ll find a pipe piece here; throw it down. Another one is located on the other end of the ledge.

There is one more pipe piece inside a locked door, and another one is down the hallway on the left. Open the locked door using the two pieces by directing the flow of water. Once inside the locked room, find a straight pipe and bring it outside.

The last pipe piece is down the hallway on the other side. With all the pieces now in your possession, you should direct the flow of water to fill the three basins.
