Fuegoleon is from the noble House Vermillion and is the leader of the Crimson Lion, one of the Magic Knight squads in the Clover Kingdom. Right from the beginning of the story, we can see how he helps teach Asta and the other young knights, which shows his nurturing side.
Fuegoleon stands out because of his amazing control of fire magic. He can create huge flames and shape them however he wants. And similar to his flames, Fuegoleon is very hot-blooded. He has a strong sense of justice and cares very deeply for his squad members. On many occasions, he has put himself in the way of danger to protect them.
Fuegoleon’s Near-Death Experience
During a big attack on the Clover Kingdom by a group called the Eye of the Midnight Sun, something terrible happened to Fuegoleon. While he was trying to protect everyone, he was teleported by Valtos (a member of the Eye of the Midnight Sun) into a trap. He was teleported to where William Vangeance as Patri was and was caught off guard and badly hurt. The attack was so severe that it put him in a deep coma that seemed like he was not waking up anytime soon.
What scared everyone even more was seeing his grimoire (magic book) open with completely blank pages. In the world of Black Clover, this is usually a very bad sign. Many people thought he might be dying or already dead. His family and squad members were very worried, and the whole kingdom felt his absence. Without his leadership and strength, the Crimson Lion and the Magic Knights as a whole were weaker.
Fuegoleon’s Return
After a while, Fuegoleon woke up from the coma better than ever. While he was in his coma, the Fire Spirit called Salamander chose him as its new partner. This was a huge power-up for him and the Clover Kingdom because Salamander had previously been with Fana. Fana was the Eye of the Midnight Sun’s Third Eye (one of the three leaders).
Getting Salamander’s power made Fuegoleon’s already strong fire magic even more powerful. The Fire Spirit gave him abilities he never had before, like creating living flames that could move and fight on their own. He could now fly using fire wings and create much stronger fire attacks. This new power put him among the strongest mages in the entire kingdom.
Fuegoleon’s Contributions After Healing

When Fuegoleon came back, the kingdom was facing a terrible crisis. Ancient elves had been reborn in human bodies, and they were incredibly powerful and hungry for revenge against humans. With his new Salamander powers, Fuegoleon was able to fight against some of these strong enemies when many others could not.
During this time, he showed that being in a coma did not change his good heart or brave spirit. He still protected the innocent and fought for what he thought was right. His tactical mind helped the Magic Knights plan their battles, and his powerful magic turned the tide in several important fights. Even against elves with weird and strong magic, Fuegoleon held his ground and protected the kingdom as a Magic Knight.
The Spade Kingdom Attack
Later, when an enemy nation called the Spade Kingdom attacked, Fuegoleon was right there on the front lines. As a captain, he led his squad into battle against very dangerous people called the Dark Triad. These enemies had devil powers and were trying to bring devils into the human world, which would ultimately destroy the whole world.
Fuegoleon showed how well he could use Salamander’s power by then. He created huge fire dragons, protective shields, and devastating attacks that could burn through almost anything. His leadership kept his squad together during the hardest fights, and his courage inspired everyone around him.
