The highly anticipated Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2 will not be playable on older consoles.
The release of Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2011 title Space Marine, is right around the corner. It has been more than a decade since fans have had the chance to explore this universe anew, and they are justifiably excited. Warhammer’s lore is fascinating to say the least. Unfortunately, Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2 will not be available on last-gen consoles like the Xbox One and the PS4.
Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2 Will Not Release on Older Consoles
Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2 will not be available on the PS4 and the Xbox One at launch. The game has been developed with next-gen platforms in mind. Focus Entertainment seems to be focusing on providing players with the best possible experience in terms of graphics and performance.
The title will be available on the following platforms:
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X|S
- PC
This isn’t particularly surprising as the visuals of the upcoming game are pushing boundaries of what has been seen so far in the Warhammer franchise. With gaming technology advancing rapidly, developers are using all the tools at their disposal to make the best product possible.
PC players, on the other hand, have reason to celebrate. Space Marine 2’s requirements to run on PC are not too intensive. Even with a relatively lower-end PC, you should be able to run the game just fine. While the frame rates might fluctuate on older PCs, it should be possible to tweak your settings and get a much smoother experience.
Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2 is set to hit stores on September 9. Players will step into the shoes of Demetrian Titus and wipe out swarms of Tyranids in the name of the God Emperor of Mankind.
