NBA 2K25 supports crossplay, but there are some restrictions that you should take note of.
NBA 2K25 became available in early access on September 4, 2024. The full release is scheduled for September 6. You can play the game on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and even the Nintendo Switch.
Crossplay is a great way to connect with friends who use different platforms. Fortunately, like most popular sports games, NBA 2K25 comes with the crossplay feature. However, you will not be able to access it on all platforms.
Here’s everything you need to know about how crossplay works in 2K’s latest basketball simulation game.
Crossplay in NBA 2K25 Explained
While NBA 2K25 does support cross-platform play, you can only access this feature on the following platforms:
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X|S
As explained on the official NBA 2K25 website, cross-platform multiplayer is not available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The PC version of the game will be New Gen, like on the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, but you won’t get to play with console gamers. That said, you’ll still get access to all New Gen game modes and features like ProPLAY, MyCAREER, MyTEAM, Play Now, The City, MyNBA Eras, and The W.
To access crossplay and basically any other online functionalities, you’ll need a 2K account, a steady internet connection, and a paid subscription depending on the console. For instance, Xbox users (only for the Xbox Series X|S in this case) need to purchase an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or Xbox Game Pass Core subscription. Meanwhile, PlayStation users (only for the PS5 in this case) will be needing a PlayStation Plus subscription.
